Window Tinting

Has anybody tinted their windows by themselves? I heard its not too hard. Can someone maybe do a diy on tinting or post how to do it or problems that arose while tinting.

Tinting is one of those things left best for a shop if you want to ensure good results. Let the experienced guys do it.

ahhh read the instructions on the box...very simple....

first clean the windows on both sides thoroughly with a lint free towel
remove any decals or whatever sticker crap on the inside...

unroll the tint film and have the plastic coating side face you.....with a friend or piece of tape hold the film and line it up with the window on the outside.....cut a generous amount and put the roll of fill on the side.....now spray the outside of the window with a spray bottle consisting of a tsp of mild soap (baby shampoo is best) and a tsp of rubbing alcohol and the rest water.

this makes the tint stick to the outside of the window....now CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY trim the tint to the edge of the window...about 1/4" inch pass the farthest little dots.....when ur done taking ur time to trim the tint use the spray bottle and spray the inside of the window...

now go to the top corner of the tint film and peel a little bit of the plastic protective coating off....once u have that corner exposed spray with ur trusty spray bottle and slowly and at the same time peel away the protective coating.

the plasic coating should now be removed and be soaked with the spray bottle....now carefully lift the trimmed and plastic removed wet tint film and transfer it to the inside of the window.....

now carefully ur gonna squeegee out the water with a credit card or other similar object moving from the center out to the edge...

work out all the little bubbles...

its best to tint when its warm and sunny out.....

this is a simple diy....i am no way an expert tinter but i have tinted a few windows b4...rep me!~

if you've never tinted windows before and you wanna try i reccommend takeing it to a shop to have the rear tinted, cause if you mess up say good bye to your rear defrost. if they mess up they get to pay for it.
