CRV or RAV4?
CRV or RAV4?
I'm thinking about a 2nd vehicle when I get my bonus
later this year. My choices are the CRV or the RAV4. I'm leaning towards the RAV4 at the moment and I would appreciate any input, both pro and con.
Thanks

rav4 is looks and small. GO with crv if you want something bigger and better, otherwise if your only looking at a daily driver with not much suv type then go with rav4 because I personally think that the rav4 looks sweeter, but the crv performs better. If you go with crv go with the ex 5spd 4wd. My sis just bought one and its nice. So many options. The rav4 is almost the same except its way more compact.
Nothing works better than a Chris except a Honda.

Yeah, size is different. The CR-V is larger than the RAV-4 but they are both considered compact SUV's. You'll feel it in the weight too. CRV's are heavy. But I'd still recommend them. SE models look great. The reason that everyone in its class aims for the CR-V is that it is sporty and functional in one package. The engine is ok, but there are other choices with V6's.

my mom just bought a 05 CRV and she loves it. Its a great car. but either car are good they are both the most reliable in the market. So its all up to weather u want a smaller type SUV or a larger one. CRV isnt that much bigger but it is.
forogt to add the crv comes with vsa or something like that now. my sis bought the ex 4wd model. Its called electronically vehicle stablizer some fancy word. It assists you when you understeer or oversteer because you know them suvs like to tip over.
I'm gonna be the first one to go against the CRV.
When it comes to making SUVs, trucks or anything of that sort, TOYOTA knows what they're doing.
Honda's good at making sexy coupes and sedans.
Anyhooo... you decide...
would you rather be sitting in this cockpit...
or this...
Do you want the exterior to look like this...

hey kasimm, dude be fair on comparisons you should have put the 05 SE trim on the CRV to compare with that hooked up 05 Rav4 instead of that disgusting old trim of the CRV.
hard decision. Since they are so similar. I would just go with which you appears to you better asthetically. comparison

From all the problems I've had with my 7th gen, I like the quality of Toyota much more than Honda. I'd still take a civic over a corolla any day though, because of the sporty styling. If it's just for an SUV, I'd take a Toyota. Toyota has been test proven to be slightly more reliable then Honda. My friends got like 90k on his CRV with no problems though.

The CRV Special Edition is hard to pass up.
Its plastic side moldings, bumpers, and spare tire cover are painted body color.
It comes with heated leather seats and I think heated side mirrors.
The Rav4 is a nice car but if the new Rav4 is anything like the old one...only children and small animals fit in the rear seats.
For the price range of the CRV and the Rav4, I'd seriously recommend you take a look at the Saturn Vue with the V6 motor.
The motor is built by Honda and the power you get for the price is unbeatable.
The Redline version looks pretty sick.

well the cr-v has the same k24 as the accord, and element... it has lots of punch
i think its 160hp and 161 lb/ft of torque, which is a little more than a stock 2003 s2000... LOL not by much tho...
they are very similar vehicles, altho i think the rav4 is layed out better in the inside

my mom has a 99 rav4 with 93k miles on it and still runs like new... i guess the cr-v would do that too, but the rav4 is smaller. the rav4 gets great gas mileage... i just took it from Miami to NYC with only 3 1/2 tanks of gas... it has pretty good acceloration too because its pretty light.

I had this same situation and heavily tested both. So I can honestly say this...
Rav 4:
Better/smoother handling. Looks waaaaaaaaaay better and sportier. Wastes less gas but is quite smaller than the CR-V. Also cheaper in price.
CR-V:
Bigger and more roomier. A little bit more expensive but worth it. Stiffer handling and not as great looking. Looks more manly for some reason. Rav4's looks a little on the girly side. Did I mention bigger with alot more room.
Basically it all comes down to who's gonna be driving it. My wife liked the Rav4, but I was gonna be driving it and went with function rather than form. If you have kids, the CR-V is the choice hands down....cause more room is like gold....

I don't know if it's much importance to you, but I noticed that CR-V's have the gear shifters near the steering wheel column (Caravan'esque style :P) while the Rav4's have the gear shifters on the floor. IMO, Rav4 because of looks, but I'm not too sure about their performance compared to CR-V's.
