How to match black interior?
How to match black interior?
Hey everyone, ok I was wondering how everyone mods with fiberglass and then makes it still appear to look(both shade and pattern...or as close as possible) like it is almost stock? Can I take it to a shop and they make it look like stock or can i do this myself? Like im thinking about putting gauges on that spot in the middle console where you can put change but I cant figure out how I can make it look like stock... Can anyone please help me out? thanks.
(P.S. I know vinyl is an option but when wrapping vinyl arround somethings it just doesnt fit right)

sorry bud cant help ya out because i dont know details on how but you can. youd get mdf thats like 1/4 inch and cut it to the size of that piece then cut gauge holes ... sand down the edges cus 1/4 inch is a tiny bit thicker than perfect... then buy some lexan i think its called. its like a plastic material and it has a matte black finish thats just about perfect stock and paintable. youd glue this onto wood and cut holes again for gauges. as for mounting it into the dash some glue would fix it in there good and tight. hmmmmm i guess i do know how wooohooooo!!!!!!!! if it seems hard just find a custom sound place and ask if they can do it for you if you wanna do it you can go to the sound shop anyways to pick up that lexan stuff cus thats were i get mine.

i said i "thought" it was lexan... i dont know the actual name but if you asked someone who does audio theyd probably know the name. as for the fiberglassing... its putty on the fiberglass to get it smooth and then i think that honda has a paint they sell that matches the black plastic. i know someone has used a paint that matched
Titanium Metallic. You got a problem with that?

Fiberglass can be painted with a truck bed liner to keep a same color. Another member on here just posted up a radio mod that used this manner as well.
