Where i'm from the only racing scene involves trucks and camero's and that was the only competition it had! i would post up some pics but due to my technology inclined computer i don't have a digital camera or scanner but soon i'll get a better computer
and scanner and post up my pic. Hey i know cougars aren't the fastest cars out there but i liked mine cause it had alot of potential if u don't believe go to www.customcougars.com and see for yourself i bougth a lot of stuff off of them. Now for civic i've fell in love with it
and i've always told people if your looking for the perfect tuner car to start with you can't go wrong with a civic and i like it better than my cougar. And by the way you have to know that the cougar's v-6 was rated at 195 hp stock
so for it to beat a couple of civics it wasn't so bad.

Cougars are ***. 195 hp out of a 2.5? That's ridiculous. By the way, the civic is not "the perfect tuner car." Go buy an SRT-4/WRX/EVO/STi. Matter of fact, the 7th gen civic is probably one of the hardest Hondas to squeeze power out of.
My friend had a cougar and he had nothing but problems with it. He traded it in for a TSX. Another guy I know has a cougar and it is slow as ****. Sorry but for a V6 with twice as much displacement as me (nearly) his car is a joke.
The civic can however be made to handle like a champ. So before anyone knows you don't go spouting off random bullshit in a thread about an eclipse. Nobody here cares about cougars. They're cars made for secretaries and high school girls who want to think they have a sports car. They have an inefficient powerplant, ugly looks, and nothing in the handling department. I don't like to downtalk cars, but this is one that I just can't help.

THAT CAR LOOKS HARD!!!! I HAVENT SEEN A IMPORT LOOKING SO HARD IN A LONG TIME....This car is gonna sell like crazy no doubt. If I was going to get a Si or Eclipse I wount think twice In getting that Eclipse. It has sounds its fast and its not a v4 its a freking 6... it be nice if it was a 8. Gas guzzler?? are you seriouse?? Its a 6 and it cant be that bad since I own a v8 5.0 engine...you guys seem to worried in how much it weights and gas....you have to expand your vision and look at it whole.

2. Gas consumption is in the eye of the beholder. You came from a gas guzzling v8, so a smaller v6 doesn't sound that bad. Most people on this board come from very fuel efficient small I4 engines, bumping up to a v6 is an increase in a gas consumption for them. If a driver came from a hybrid or electric, even a small I4 could seem like a gas guzzling monster.
3. How can you not look at weight if you're any kind of performance car enthusiest? A 100 hp 5lb car would be incredibily fast compared to a 100 hp 100 lb car. Weight is a major factor to be considering if you want to go fast. Sure, you can make up for it with more horsepower, but thats horsepower that could be making you faster rather than compensating for weight.
4. Looks are subjective. BTW, who and what the hell does "SEEN A IMPORT LOOKING SO HARD" mean?
It was looking freaking sweet.... Oh yeah im used to those monsters like 69' Camaros that weight A TON and run very fast times.... Im just used to all that I guess. And it shouldnt be a big jump from a I4 to a v6.... Shouldnt be that big of a diff. People cant be tight with money these days. C'mon now...lol. So yeah. I wouldnt strip my car down just to go faster. I rather look good in leather interior and go fast at the same time.
