Mustang or Cobalt
A friend of mine is looking into either a '05 Base Mustang or a '05 Cobalt SS. He wants to know which one is a better value in features, resale, performance ect. . What do y'all think?

I'd go with the cobalt any day.
Base mustangs are crap. Poor build quality, cheap interior. I've had better interiors on my fisher price cars when I was a kid.
Plus, IMO, the v6 stang is slow for a v6.

I told him the SS too only cause it's loaded up pretty nice and supercharged... the only thing he has against it is if there would be much he could do to it since it's already supercharged he thinks the stang might have more potential

it's a tie imo...they both suck.
The Cobalt SS IS the already existing Saturn Redline....the Redline was a horrible car with nice seats. The engine was crap and the supercharger was barely a factor when I drove it. It shifts like it's broken and handles like ****..Having said that I've heard the Cobalt may have improved suspension but it's still the same engine and tranny...boo.
Mustang....V6? I think someone already talked about it here. I have the same opinion.

So im guessing this kid is big on domestics? Anyway in my opinion both choices are horrible. If i was getting a mustang i at least go Cobra or GT, that got the V8 atleast right?? Anyway talk him outta it!!!
well he can still upgrade the parts and make it alot faster but the SS is way better. nice seats compared to base seats, faster engine, can get warranty on supercharger and other parts that come stock. unless its the GT i wouldnt go with the mustang. SS is also a slicker looking car. GET THE SS....
I say neither, and my question would be out of all the cars he could pick from, why those two? I drove a v6 stang, its terrible, completely terrible. Not only that but the 05's body style looks horrible, unless he were to put a saleen kit on it, then it would look half decent. I say one more time, why does he want to buy these POS's.

what resale value
Well with my personal bias’s aside...I would take the Cobalt SS. However, they are both going to lose their value just as fast because they are American made. The supercharger is definitely better that the stock V6.

99-00 si, 02+wrx, scion tc supercharged (even though its a hatch), or a 7th gen turbo/swap, or swap+ turbo would be much better choices.
