Could be, the one they brought in was like a silver color before it was covered up. I saw the wing.

'06 Civic Si Information
1. The Si will definitely be a coupe
2. The body is said to be low and wide and quite sporty in appearance, borrowing some styling cues from several current Honda and Acura models, particularly the flared wheel wells with circular arches. The A-pillar has a dramatic sweep, very similar to the rake shown in the spyshots of the European Civic that were published earlier.
3. The projector headlight housings are said to be shaped like the TSX's
4. Track-tuned suspension sits as much as 1" lower than stock, wheel well gaps are said to be minimal.
5. The Si will use 17" wheels with 205 or 215mm width tires.
6. The transmission will be a standard 6MT
7. The engine is said to be i-VTEC, with at least 200hp. Supposedly the possibility exists that it will get 210 hp or more
8. The seats will be quite sporty with fairly aggressive bolstering
9. A Navi system is rumored to be an option
10. Si will launch slightly later than regular coupe and sedan models, late in Q4 of 2005.
With these developments, there are whispers floating about that the RSX's days could be numbered.

If the price is similar, then the rsx-type s could still stick around

Rep Power: 0 with the 200hp/280lb gti, it makes sense. make something with comparable power but lighter with honda build quality. faster track times, better mpg, less maintenance = honda wins.
And if the current ex is 18k, i would suspect an Si + navi to be 21k-22k. making it direct price comparo with the gti and death of the rsx. I think acura is trying to move upstream with infiniti and lexus. neither of those two have $21k RSX-like bargains.

If Honda wanted to phase the RSX out of the Acura lineup in the near future, why the mid generation redesign? Why the new k20z1 engine? If they were planning on killing the sales and the model in the next year or two, it makes no sense to r&d a new design and especially new engine.
I think if they bump the Si hp it will be to leave a wider power gap between Si-Ex, much like the power gap was widened between type-S and base/premium RSX's.

Rep Power: 0 The best part is that the Si is the MAIN EVENT attraction at Honda's display! You would almost think its Honda's next nsx or something. They didnt do a good job with hiding the ridgeline. but they have been some how able to keep the si under tight covers.
Must be something good! But in all honesty, if it is 210hp and weighs 2800 lbs, would you rather have that new for $20k or a prestine s2000 for $17k? that is going to be the dilemna for me when my lease on the 04 ends in 06.
