read a book called "honda S2000" by daniel f carney. it has quotes of press releases, statements, and info from honda about the S2k since it's inception in 1995.
head over to www.s2ki.com and post this "good info" you have and you'll be laughed off the forums. believe me. there are people who are members there who are FAR more up the ladder than you and anyone you know.
and "R & D guys from honda". lol. so you speak japanese?
in case you didn't notice, all of honda's R and D on the S2k is done in japan. even the car itself is built only in japan.

Honda would NEVER EVER cut the sporty cars from their lineup, if you read Honda history, Honda founder is a big fan of racing, he even used to drive F1 racecars. This means Honda will always have performance oriented vehicles in their lineup. That was the main reason for building the NSX, and will be the reason for keep building performance engines and performance oriented suspensions, wich means thats the reason of why they will keep building performance oriented vehicles.
do you think it might be possible that they drop the rsx here but keep the integra in japan, it would just be another one fo those cars on the list that we wont get. need less to say time will tell what happens, for now we can all just wait and see what happens with the 8th gen civic, i for one hope im pleasantly suprised.

yeah i doubt honda will cut all there sporty cars. Honda has always try to position themselves as a sporty Toyota. Even Toyota said they were going to spice up there lexus line. I doubt honda would respond by making there lineup more boring to compete.
If acura wants to build up its luxury image, then they should try to compete against what the european lines are offering. Both mercedes and bmw have entry luxury coupes in there line up. As of right now, Acura does not. The rsx is a nice car, but it is not on the same level as a bimmer 330ci.
I still think they'll remake the rsx as the tsx coupe and have the civic si take the place of the current rsx. If they keep the rsx where it is now, Honda would be competing against themselves. The kind of person that would buy a rsx, is the same kind of person that would buy a civic si. Does not make sense to compete against yourself.
The s2000 i don't know. I don't know how profitable that car is to honda, but it does bring up the reputation of honda, which is something you can put a dollar amount on. They might just keep it around to bring up honda as a more sporty line and have something compete against the miata. I'm not sure if it can compete against a bmw z4 or audi roadster.

The S2000 is faster and outhandles both the Z4 and especially the audi roadster, not to mention the fact you can hardly even call the miata a competitor of the S2000. The miata got owned by the S2000 in auto x. (considering the S2k just got moved to A-stock, and the miata remains b-stock) It's a nimble little car, but far too underpowered.

I to have, even read now, that the 2007 civc is going to have a K20 or some variant (K18) in it. Probabaly some thing like the LX and VP,and DX will have a K18 and the EX (or maybe a new Si) will have a K20. Spy photos have shown the new civic to be in hatch form too.
And yes the S2k was only suppose to be a 2 year project, but there was such a demand for them they kept them going. They will not stop the s2k until it becomed unprofitable.

no they are not discontinuing the S2k. i'm getting tired of repeating myself. does anyone ever read the posts in a thread anymore? lol
and for the last time, the S2000 WAS NOT MEANT TO BE A 2 YEAR PROJECT!!!!! i dont know how much more i can jump up and down like a monkey before people will finally listen to me! christ. read hondas documentation from 1995 on about the S2000. it was NEVER meant to only sell for 2 years. or only 5 years. Honda intended the car to bring a sporty roadster to the masses with incredible handling. something truly fun. they did this in large because of the success of the miata. honda has stated from day 1, as long as people keep buying S2000's, they will keep making them.

That's my point, if people buy the s2k, they will make it. They won't disconinue it becasue Honda has nothing to replace it with. If the RSX stops production, they will have something like a K20A2 (RSX-S motor?) in a civic to replace it, or maybe a two door TSX. My point is they can replace the RSX with other cars in the line up, they can not replace the S2k with other cars, they can only remodel it and make it better. The romur I and others have heard that S2k was only a 2 year project, is probably jus thtat the uppers at Honda where evaluating the cars sales at those points. 2 year and five years are common time to look at cars sales and determine if it is profitable for the company to continue making the car.

I work for Acura and we were told this week that they will be droping the RSX and the NSX. But the TSX will be coming out with a few more version including( possiblities) convertable, coupe and more horsepower.

a press release would be made before they start telling everyone in the company that information.
kinda is a believe it when i see it, to me, since right now, sales of the RSX would indicate otherwise.
