The thing is anyone with a bit of knowledge knows that a S2k is a hell of a car. You are however in that price range of many other great cars EVO, STI ect..... However the more that I research I am finding just as you said earlier that the DSM engine is really not all that reliable under boost which when it comes down to it is all that an EVO engine is. I don't hate the s2k, I think it looks sweet but it's just not my style, im a power guy, horsepower/torque, good tunning ability. IMO, i (stock form and modding) rather buy a 350z, STi or Evo... but I would buy an s2k over an rx8.

So in that same statment, yes.. it is, you can get a (stock) 350z, STi or EVO w/ better performance, but that is based on USER OPINION. You know (stock vs. stock) those 3 cars have better performance for around the same price (30k range)
you're talking 2 different cars and 2 different purposes.
If someone says the S2k is overpriced, they're wrong. Why? If you are looking at the S2k then you are in the market for a roadster. So if you're in the market for a roadster, the S2000 is about the best bang for buck you can get. So how is that overpriced?
And on a side note, the 350Z is not better performance than the S2000.
