This tells you nothign about the rest of the car. Having velocity stacks does not mean this is a "fully built" motor
This is true, but it does give you a pretty good idea that the engine is fairly highly tuned. Looking at the engine in those pics kinda reminds of the engine in the M5. Makes me drool every time I see it... lol.

i don't see honda bringing this motor here anytime soon, since it doesn't exactly fit into their line of clean high revving cars. maybe it's the motor for the next nsx replacement

i am pretty sure that motor is tune, otherwise, it won't have a mugen badge. in that case, there are other tuning companies other, who is as good, if not better than mugen. companies like sard/trd(denso supra, the jgtc mr-s), saleen, svt, mopar, signal, lingenfelter, hennessey (800+hp street legal vipertt), nismo, agp, atp(makes 300 - 400whp vw), ats(400-500rwhp toyota), ttc(is430), stillen, rmm(drifto gto) and many others

what i am trying to say is that mugen is not gospel, it's not god, and i respect mugen for pulling out a 600hp motor, but with money and resources, you can get 600hp out of anything. you guys seems almost like little girls on their first period because mugen put down 600hp on a v8

I love that orange Legend MAX. I wish they sold that here as the Legend still, the RL sounds so boring.

Horsepower: 590hp / 9500rpm
torque: 383lb/ft / 7500rpm
weight: 131kg

Holy cow. Sell that here!

hmmm, hopefully this will be the Dualnote replacement that was spoken of so many years ago that will comfortably seat 4...

If they ever did make a street version (very big if), and brought it to America, there is NO way in heck it'd be under 40 grand. The base Acura RL as-is is already $48,900. It'd probably be more along the lines of an M5 in price-tag, or the new M6. Basically, very pricey. Probably about $75k pricey, to be close, lol.

Just like any other car company though, a good thing always comes from racing. We're just happy to see an actual V8, because unlike Toyota or Nissan, Honda doesn't have a V8 yet, inside a production car. That could mean that the time has come for Honda themselves to make a V8. Anyway, competition is always good. I mean, there was the same kind of buzz when BMW announced they would drop a V10 in the next gen M5. We're just happy/surprised/other emotions... So, we don't mean to sound like litte girls.

Lets face it Honda needs to produce a V8 to play with the big boys. There are too many markets they are not tapping into by holding back on the V8.

4.0l 590hp is actually a very impressive number not many other car manufacturers can reach that high on a n/a engine.

You seem to be forgetting that the engine that Mugen put in there is their race engine, which is obviously in race-tune. In street-tune it wouldn't make anywhere near that amount of power, but I would suspect that a minimum of 400 HP wouldn't be too difficult for them to extract from that engine. In any case, that is still a Mugen engine, and there is definitely not a very good chance of that going into a production Honda. Honda will end up coming out with the own V8; but, let's just hope that it's as good as their hi-po 4-bangers.

i agree, race doesn't = street engines for sure, and i also hope that they produce a v8 with some impressive numbers. however, mugen v8 isn't really that far from the truth because sopposebly mugen designed that engine with the help of honda.

I definitely agree. If you think about it, though... albeit in a fairly primitive way, if the RSX Type-S I4 makes what, 200 HP? They could just take two of those, siamese them, and have a 4.0L V8 that should easily make 400 HP. Although I've extremely simplified it, it IS entirely possible. I know! They could call it a K40A! A K-Series V8, lmao.

k40a would be the type-r version (at least 460hp) then k40a2 type-s, and so on lmao

LOL yah... Then they could take the 2.2 from the S2k and make that into a V8, and have an F44... now that'd be interesting... It'd make, what, 480 HP? haha It'd do wonders for their R&D too, cuz they wouldn't have to spend all that much to design the new V8. I say they go with the K-Series V8.
