Ducati or Buell? Opinions
OK...In my experience poeple on this site have always been good at giving thier opinions (sometimes thier facts aren't very accurate...but opinions you all are pretty vocal about) So I figured I see wich of the two bikes I'm considering is more liked. Both are in my budget and I like them both for different reasons. So I'm just curious what others would go fo.
In no particular order:
2001 Ducati 748 biposto (yellow)
2005 Buell xb9sx (blue)
I know the buell has more HP...In fact I know the specs on each bike, so save me that...I'm looking more for visual impressions and general thoughts on the feelings from either bike. Thanks guys.
I wanted to have a poll...but couldn't find it...is that a premium feature?

go for the ducati so much more street cred! walk up to some random hot chick and be like "yo, babe, want to go for a ride on my ducati" then do the same thing but substitute buell for ducati you'll get way more chicks with the ducati!

Don't like buell at all. I love ducati's but I think they are over priced. I just bought a 2004 suzuki GSXR-1000 in August and I love it, but my next bike that I will buy will be an Aprillia RSV Mille. Those bikes are awesome. I really don't like the styling of the new ducati's, but I do love the older 996 and 748. If you have the money get the Ducati. Good luck and drive safe.

if it were me id get the Ducati.
Both bikes have their ups and downs.
Ducati is infamous for having costly maintenance and repairs.
The Buell should be improved as they changed the belt in 2004.
Just little things plague it like, a in 2003-4 they had a recall on the wheel bearings and weak foot pegs.

Well for me and where I live, a Duc is out of the question. VERY high maintenance, plus they're air cooled. Nice bikes, but no thanks.
The Buell is an amazing bike. It takes the Duc formula of V-twin performance and improves it. These bikes keep all of their fluids down low and within the frame, so as to prevent swishing around on curves. This makes the bike a killer track bike and you'll be gone in the corners. The bike is also american made, not italian, so parts are easily available and affordable. Plus you can't beat the street fighter look of a buell.
Look, if you've got deep pockets and don't mind a bike that's gonna be a pain in the *** and the wallet, then get the ducati. But if you want a no nonsense, amazing track bike, get the buell.
Handling on bikes is nil, because no rider ever rides to a bike's full potential. However, I've read many reviews praising the Buell over the Duc.
My first choice however is what I have sitting in my garage as we speak.
Yeah, I run from cops.

IMO, I would get the Ducati. Three reasons fer me. One, it's an import. Two, its got class. Three, looks hot. And three reasons not to get a Ducati. One, pretty expensive. Two, high cost of maintainance. Three, expensive (hahah, it really is expensive)...

Wish I had a Turbo
