Rep Power: 311 Do research, as RangerMan said.
I personally don't trust American cars, because here in Puerto Rico they just don't survive. They're made for the long straight roads of the USA and they have too many problems here.
Although it's a JEEP. I trust JEEPs.

Rep Power: 257 looks tight, however, expect frequent maintanance past 130k, if i was you i would spend couple of buck and go to a mechanic and do pressure and leak down tests. They are both to check engine internals. Oh and check the color of exhaust gases. Stay away from filthy black smoke, very gray smoke, or bluish smoke.

Rep Power: 0 My girlfriend has the 96 and she already has gears sticking and crap. Pretty lame its stuck in 4 wheel drive low so she cant go that fast. Only 97k on it. I like them though they have good power. But as the others say research it and then go for it if its clean ya know!

Rep Power: 0 my ex has a 01 cherokee laredo, the transmission sucks so bad. It constantly goes out, every few months there is another problem. We have replaced power steering, transmission more than once, the belt (looks like 1 powers all accessories) replaced a few times, radiator had probs, and right now there is a leak of some sort, I believe from the exhaust.

Rep Power: 0 jeeps a good car for up here. well if your planning on this car to last you a few years then you might want to reconsider. Jeep was and is a good car manufactuer but a few of the plants that produce their drivetrains have not been up to par. other than those things the car looks good. i'd check chassis condition and just an overall engine check. good luck seems like a very good buy.
