I would pick the S2000 over the RSX.
Well look at it like this. I have a fairly similar car, and I'll tell you one thing. Power is all relative. Eventually you will crave more power. I'm scheming on getting the Greddy turbo kit as we speak. If you do get it, be prepared to spend more on gas. You can't put 87 in that thing. Also be prepared to spend more on insurance. Having a 30K car is also a 30K responsibility.
Depending on how you look, you may get pulled over ALOT. Cops pull me over all the time because they think I stole my parents' car. I'm 23, but I look like I'm 19. So that probably has something to do with it.
The number one tip I can give you though, is that if you do buy the S2K, invest in some professional driving lessons. There's no better mod to turn out faster lap times and make you safer.
BTW RWD is a pain in inclement weather...be prepared.

and i dont think hes planning on road racing anyways. though in stock form, the S2k is a lot of fun to auto x for beginners.

also, the S2k is a fun winter car if you have winter tires. it's stable and actually quite fun in the snow with the right tires.
also people keep mentioning insurance. FYI, it costs the same for me to have an RSX-s as an S2000 insurance wise. the S2000 is barely more expensive than a civic or accord. it has a low theft and accident rate.

Yeaaa.. exactly s2000man... i'm gonna treat the car like how those old fart mid-life crisis people treat their corvettes...lol
I just plan to use it for regular driving and wut not...and i'm not one of those lame *** ricer kids who freakin rev so hard that it sounds like they're bitch slapping their engines.. and i just want it for what it is.. a reliable.. fairly fast honda... my civic can barely switch lanes fast enough when i have 4 people in the car..lol.. and i don't ride with that much people either anyway..
But yea.. this is just an idea... and i'm hoping to attend college soon anyway (pretty cheap tuition)..and i've saved up a "decent" amount after having graduated this summer.. so this is just a idea that is gonna go on hold for awhile.. or maybe not..not really sure yet
I'm still young and want to take a hold of this oppourtunity before i actually move out and have to pay to live on my own(which will be a **** load i bet)..
Since i'm still living with my parents and have a few good years to save up.. i might as well do what will make me happy
I appreciate all your replies and this will help me think more about it... and thanks s2000man .. u helped me a lot knowing that u actually own the car ..

just get the rsx-s they have a vid on clubrsx.com with a rsx-s with injen cai, dcrh, hondata#4 beating a s2k 04 off a roll and a 01 or 02 with aem cai clutch flywheel and exhaust. Plus the insurance on a s2k will be very high
simply i say RSX-S... ummm 4 seater, Cheaper$, FWD is more safer... fast enough 2 cut peps off with 4 people in it haha (lol iknow how it feels with 4 other peps in the car >_<) ... think carefully b4 getting it n gl

so you get a video of one crappy driver in an S2000, and people think the RSX is suddenly faster than the S2k.... wow.
the rsx with cai, header, and hondata will BARELY beat an S2000 from a roll, if the S2k is driven right. and above 100, the S2000 will still pull.
I had a friend with SRI and hondata, and from a 25mph roll, he could stay almost dead even to about 90mph. I'd get maybe half a car if that. but from 90+ the S2k would start to pull.
and an RSX s with just a cai, exhaust, and flywheel, will not beat an S2000 from a roll. at least not with me driving it.
and take either car above, and go from a stop, and the RSX will get worked hard.
and for the last f*ckin time. AN RSX COSTS JUST AS MUCH AS AN S2000 for INSURANCE!!!!! geez people. does anyone even bother to read any posts anymore? or do they just post whatever garbage comes to their minds?

Is this a typo that you never corrected?
How the hell did an 18/19 year old get 1 mil?

A small, FWD "sporty" coupe with ECU upgrades vs. an open top, RWD, in your face roadster with one of the best suspensions on the market.
Oh, but the RSX beat it from a roll

EDIT: Changed
this is off topic but I remember reading that for people whom like to drag the s2000 has a weak drivetrain...Is this true...I do remember at the palmdale track by my house a s2000 broke its axle and it was brand new with no plates.....Is this common?
i have heard from lots of my friends, peps that drove the s2k... say that its pretty slow... compare 2 others that are availble for the price range... iuno i believe there all wrong, cuz i favor honda over others =D ... 1k huh ... RSX-S!
If you can afford it, go for the S2000. It's one of the best Honda I have ever driven. As far as for power, don't expect to enjoy the S2000 below 6000RPM. You will be disappointed but once you pass 6000RPM, guarantee you'll have a big smile on your face

However, in stock form, or with only N/A mods, the S2k can take all the launching in the world just fine. It does NOT have a weak axle/rear end/drive train.

and compared to what in the price range? the miata? the only other comparable roadster in that price range is the 350Z, which is a bit slower in it's roadster form. to get another roadster with comparable speed, you have to up to a $60,000 porsche.

What amazes me is not a single one of these people who posts has any idea what they are talking about. Nor do their friends. If you want an opinion, take mine, or go over to S2ki.com. Don't take an opinion from someone who heard this or that, or has never owned one. The S2000 has plenty of smile happy pep below 6000rpm, the drive train is fine if you're not FI'd, and 13.7@103 is by no means slow, considering it's a 4 cylinder. Not to mention how much fun the damn thing is to drive, especially around some curvy roads.
I do have one more bit of advice for you.... do NOT test drive it unless you plan to BUY it. Because I guarantee, once you get behind the wheel of an S2000, throw it around some corners, and hit 9000rpm, you will buy it.

I really doubt it. You have to be retarded to get the Mazdaspeed over the S2000. Anyways, look at my avatar. That should give you an idea which car to purchase, if you do.
i wanted the s2000 but after looking into it i did not find it worth it. only 2 seats and really no storage space it does not make sence other then a weekend toy. plus i dont even think the seats are able to move back.
and for that price of a car you can get one with more hp for cheeper
