For people with 5% tints...
If you have a 5% window tint all around (except front windshield obviously) could you just tell what you think about it, if you like it, and mainly, how is it driving at night ?? thnx guys...
ps Im gettin mine done saturday and dont know whether to go 5 or not

i used to have that percent on my rears, cant back out of my driveway cause theirs no street lighting at all. so i gotta look at my side mirrors and stick my head out the window to see where im backing into.
if i could redone it, i would've went with 20% instead of the darker 5%

I've had mine for almost three years and love it. I would never go lighter. As for backing up, I hope you've been to the optometrist lately, because your eyesight needs to be good, but it's nothing you can't work around.

I love mine. I wouldnt reccomend doing the front windows in it though just go with 20% up front only because it is really hard to see at night and I know I use my mirrors at night to back up. But headlights are visible just fine so go 5% on the back and 20% up front. You got a coupe or a sedan...Here is a pic of what mine looks like maybe it will help...
reason i said 20% is because of
1) police hassling you about it being too dark
2) driving in reverse is gonna be tough
3) the right amount in-between the safe side and the hardcore side.
with 40% on the fronts and driving around when its dark, no one can see you. but driving during the day, its more like a shade and sun still goes thru enough to hurt your eyes when you look directly at it.
lets ask what are your main reason(s) you are getting tint first?..

I agree with you, jttegx. I neglected to mention I only have 5% on my rear three windows. My front two are 35%, which, like you said, is enough to where no one can see me at night and just enough to keep out the bright sun during the day.

I have 5% all around and i love it. I have a black civic and with the tint, it makes it look really nice. Basically if you live in a area with a lot of sun, the tint helps a lot. Like everyone said before me, the biggest down fall is backing out. You do get use to it too though. Driving at night is a pain, but you get use to it and you dont really notice it after awhile. I've gotten so use to it, when i drove my friends car that wasn't tinted i felt like all headlights were blinding me. I love how ricer drivers try to high beam you because your not driving at the insane speed they are, thinking its actually effecting you, but in the real case his headlight are little white dots to you and most of the time you won't notice that he's high beaming you.
Anytime you tint your front windows, you run the risk of cops giving you fix it tickets for them, no matter the percentage. If you drive within the speed limit and your not doing anything stupid, they usually let you go, unless there really trying to be a ****.

Got 5% in my rears, 20 up front. It's great contrast with the silver body of my ride and keeps the interior, but my gf lives in Hamilton, and in some areas there are no streetlights....so if I ever have to do a 3-point turn for any reason, I'll have to take it real easy lest I back into a ditch or something, lol.

well I have 25% on the fronts and 2% on the rest of the car because texas only allows 25% on the front otherwise than that I love having it dark and since is a hybrid smoke/mirror tint from one angle it looks mirror and another its just smoke gray. Go ahead and do it all out if your going to and can get away with it.

cops will be on your ***, I got 35 front, legal limit and 15 on windshield header, and rear glass. my friend got a 350$ ticket for 20% and the cop ripped his inspection sticker off so he had to get it done legally. Don't know where u live but here at the inspections, they now have the testers and it's gotta be legal. My back is 15 and I got ****, but the dude didn't have the correct tester w/ the two seperate pieces to measure the back window, just the fronts which were borderline.
I got 5% on my rears and hate it. Looks good but the car gets too hot in the summer, I can not see anything at night, especially when backing up, and you can really tell when the outside of your windows are dirty.
I limoed my taurus all around in 2002, all but the windshield, it made the car look good, made the AC work better too. only problem is driving in heavy traffic it felt like I was looking out of a cave, couldn't see passing traffic too well, lots of idiots here in San Diego, It looks good, got a fixit ticket on the fronts, had to pay $10.00, get it written off, and remove the front tint. I wanted to get them redone, but I think if you get a fixit ticket for the same thing on the same car there is a big fine.

I have 5% all around and i love it.....It is total Privacy from the outside world when you are driving....It makes the car look sweet.....and it darkend the cabin to...another good thing i like about is if some1 is behind u w/ hid's and they are in your mirror the tinit absorbs the light and u can stare right into the light and not effect your visibility.....i recommend u get this...it takes about a week to get used to but after that u are going to love it.....
i have a coupe, and went with 35 front, 20 rear, and 5 rear windshield
i regret the 5 rear windshield cuz its impossible to see when im reversing. also, it sucks cuz its difficult to see if a cops following you
come spring, im changing the fronts to 20% cuz 35 is too light for my liking
