Honda Linc Information System

I had a problem with my 05 this morning..Its in the vehicle issue and problems section...

The mechanic at the Honda dealership gave me some interesting info I didn't know about...It seems that the newer cars like the Civic Sir Accords Oddyseys have a computer system that is directly linked up with Honda Canada so when you come into the shop with an engine or other problem , the shop plugs in this computer and then it sends the code to Honda Canada then Honda Canada return the code with the propper reading...If the car for example has lets say a E45R5 code Honda Canada will tell them exactly what it is and if it is under waranty..Kool....

So like the mechanic said if you miss a shift lets say from 4 then shove it into second they can read the RPM tach and the computer at Honda Lync will say if it was a normal shift or a miss shift forgot the name of that....

Anyways when you miss a shift it is not covered at all by Honda he said..Bending the valves and all....It does make sense to me..Why should Honda pay for your mistake...Ive heard a few people screwing up their engines like that

LoganK is an unknown quantity at this point
yea ive heard that too, especially from the s2000 owners. misshifting at 9k rpms into a lower gear can be very bad.... but i remember someone got honda and another company to each pay 1/3 of the price for the new engine and installation.so instead of the owner paying like 9k for a new engine and installation, he only had to pay 3k. that was really awesome for honda and the other company to take 2/3 of the price even though the guy admitted it was his fault.
