Buying an '05 Accord
Buying an '05 Accord
I am thinking about doing this. I got a mailer from Honda a few days ago. Not a true rebate, but a 1/60 off guarantee with the ad. The strategy I am thinking of is a easy going but non-negotiable one. Edmunds. I will demand the Edmunds price on the new car and the Edmunds price for the trade in, at dealer trade in costs. The stickling point might be the condition of my trade. 01 Civic 30000 mi. I say good they may say avg. If they give me a hard time I'll say... well maybe I'll be nice.... As far as the Accord goes, the Coupe looks a lot better. There has been advice here to go with Toyota any kind, since they are built so much better. Maybe I'll give Honda one more go around.

Go for the coupe. and don't use the pricing from edmunds or kbb as a hard and fast rule. They can go quite a bit lower than what is shown. When I bought my civic I payed about $1000 less than the kbb invoice price.

Awesome. Yeah, I'd try to use KBB as a starting point, but see if you can trade your car in for higher or if you can get the Accord coupe for a lower price than on Edmunds. Well, good luck and hopefully you'll get a great deal on a new Accord. V6 or I4?
I would probably just get an LX. Maybe I will keep Edmunds out of it then. I'm not as sure if I'm going to do it or not. Although this would be the time. I read that auto sales are down this year, and Accord sales are way off, and even Honda is offering incentives. When sales are off, they usually make some good deals at the end of December to make the financial statements look better for the year.

So ssi you get an Accord? I did... just got it yesterday. I found an '04 EX with 6K on the odometer and picked it for $18,500; kbb was $32,000. I was very dissappointed witht hte civic (in comaprison to previous models) but the Accord is a set up from the previous models and is an excellent car. Not a perfoprmance car, but an excellent driving car. Mine has quite a bit of pep too for only being the I4.
