01+ El will 14" steel rims clear the brakes

just wondering if 14" steelies would clear the brakes
has anyone tried this ???

The fronts will clear for sure - it's the same as civics, some of which do come with 14's. The rears should be no problem either, judging by how small they are. I believe I did see a 1.7 with 14" steelies a little while ago.

I've never put steelies on my car.

well the tire i want to get dont come in 195 60 r 15
so i have to either pick a differnt tire michellin x ice or get 14" stellies and run 185 70 r 14

the tire i am planing on getting are the nordic winter tires from Cnd tire
got a g/c to there for x-mas

I have 14" steelies on the civic they fit over the front and the rear, however i have drum brakes so i am not sure what the diameter of your rear disk brakes are. But I imagine you should have not problems.

You could always try another 15 inch size (ie. 185/65/15 will also work fine) if they don't have your stock size, although 14 inchers will be cheaper though.

LOL I got these rims for super super cheap from a friend. They're all curbed n stuff...hard to balance too.

Yup! 14" are fine! Had my winters on 14" last year...they worked fine!
This summer I bought aftermarket rims, so I decided to place winters on my OEMs' now!
