My Transmission blew at 93,000 miles... Good thing I got that extended warranty cause they want 3,600 to fix.. Anybody else having transmission problems?

$3,600 for a trans swap seems pretty steep. You ought to blow the motor next before your warranty expires...

OUCH!! did you keep up on the maint. changing the fluid? I'm looking into my manual to see when I need it changed when I get home. I can't afford 3600!!! then again I got peeps who know peeps so maybe I can swap one out during a repo... we like to call it "raping" a car before it gets taken to the auction. this my friends is why you shouldn't get a car at an auction

yeah but the extended warranty company i just found out doesnt work with honda parts so i have to have it towed again (because the car is sitting at honda right now) to an aamco to have them inspect it and have it rebuilt.. Ahhh!

3600 is way too much. just go to junkyard and get one for ~300-500. Our engine and tranny is cheap. do get it rebuild, if you have to pay 3600

That sucks. the week will be over before you know it. I also have an 02 jeep grand cherokee laredo... I got an extended warranty on that mo fo and no one wants to except it because the warranty company sucks and doesn't like paying the bills. so I spent 2k on it for nothing. I have already had to spend over 800 bucks in repairs. none of which this "warranty" covered. ugh we got ripped off so bad when buying that thing. I'll never buy a used vehicle again or an american vehicle again.

Don't feel sorry for me!! You got to get your car fixed! That sux and having to deal with people at the shop or the dealership... then they will say oh it will be longer than a week... blah blah. I hate that. It seems the more you want you car back the longer they keep it. Jerks. I should have convinced my wife to get the 5 speed at the time of buying this. I had no idea we would be married so now I'm driving it. =)

my tranny blew a while back because I was trying to race with a car that's not meant to be raced with unless you do a swap or turbo...plus my warranty was up and honda charged me 3600 for a tranny, got new tires too and a new sidemirror...

hmm, i have no warranty. and with the way i got through cars, i give it about 65k miles on mine. 94 pontiac gp, bad tranny and cracked block within 3 months of owning that pos. 91 honda accord, bad auto tranny and pesky start problem, bout a year and a half @200k miles. this civic, is gonna be lucky to see 100k without a swap with the way my panache *** drives.

3600 seems like a bit much. if u werent under warranty i would question that.
