A Question of Opinion:
I've been toying with the idea of pulling off all of my emblems (chrome) sanding them down, and painting them either a black or a dark gunmetal gray. What do you guys think?
I would just remove them altogether, but for some reason, Mazda likes the idea of installing their badges with prongs into holes in the body. I really don't feel like having body work done just for that.
So what do you think?

I like the idea - make it darker than the body, it'd look pimped. I wanted to paint my Acura logo red, but decided that would be too ricey, and just left it on the rear as-is.
That's funny. I've been looking into RX-8's all week. Thinking of one for next year. What's the best forum for them? I was looking on rx8club.com.
Badges, the ones that are drilled in are a pain. I took them all off on my Integra and welded in the holes myself. The I had to sand, primer, and get it painted. I did all the emblems and the trunk lock. The outcome is killer but what a time consuming process.

Yeah, you'll find that the torque really is a non issue. It's only a concern when you compare it to the torque monster 350Z. I never felt like the car wasn't "torquey" enough until I read about it....
That's why it comes with a very aggressively geared 6 speed. The thing about this car is you have to drive it like a motorcycle. Keep the revs high...above 5K rpm...below that, and you're driving a grocery getter.

good idea, just make sure the emblems are metal so that you dont damage them when stripping off the chrome. if paint thinner dont work, try that "goo gone" stuff or wd40. that worked GREAT on removing the chrome from my headlights. <grumble grumble muthafucka>
but you should paint them like either a black chrome looking color. flat black might look nice too, but i dont know if that would be too "cheap" looking.....

Thanks for the advice guys...I think in the end, I'm just gonna get the cans of paint and hold them up to the car to decide which would be best...
As for the FD comment, no **** sherlock, but I don't want the pain and anguish of maintaining one as a daily driver. Not to mention my dad has a 94 FD3S TT and he offered to give it to me, and me being 23 with a perfect record COULD NOT get insured on it here in Las Vegas.
