A horse of a different color?
2005 Mustang GT-
Looks terrific, sounds great, plenty of power, stops with alacrity, and responds well to orders from the helm. Stir in bargain pricing, and the revived Mustang adds up as hard to resist. But the biggest achievement, seems to me, is how well the chassis guys have managed the balance between ride and handling. When we first heard the new car would retain a live-axle rear suspension, we were skeptical, to say the least. It's hard to attain roll stiffness and still keep the tires in constant contact with the pavement using this time-honored (read "neolithic") technique. Nevertheless, the GT exhibits a blend of compliance and response worthy of a BMW. Nice job, guys.

Wait Mustangs and BMWs having comparative handling?!?!?!?
I believe Hell just froze over.

I tend to not believe what magazines post about cars regarding handling.... Simply because most only test them on the street, or they compair Skidpad or Slalom #s.. (which are more a question of tires then the car its self)....
My guess is that the thing will still plow like all the other stock mustangs when pushed to its limits. it is pretty nice looking though.

C&D tests on tracks. So does Motor Trend, Road and Track, and just about all other mags. They push these cars to their limits. I have no idea where you came up with your reasoning.

and mags are notorious for being off on their "reviews". about the only tests they do that are of any decency are braking, skidpad, and when they have a PROFESSIONAL driver do a shootout with several different cars on a road course track.
other than that, everything else is subjective, and I find it hard to believe that anything about a mustang is on par with a bmw

The full race trim version is fawkin hot. They badged it GT-R, and I mush say, I was impressed. Comes with Formula-1 style steering wheel (speedo, tach, etc digitized in steering wheel.) Also comes with full race cage, and a Tremec T 6 speed tranny. Oh, and did I mention it's the reintroduction of the 5.0? Only thing is no passengers will be riding with you, as it only comes with a single race bucket. The one featured in the article I read is an orange color with black hood, grille, spoiler(which is the only qualm I have with it), etc.More info can be found in King's RIDES magazine Fall 04 issue. (Football Frenzy edition). "I give it a 9.5... I still got wood." Starts on page 90 (I couldn't find the website anywhere indise it, so I can't post a link).

i always liked mustangs. the body right before the new one, i think it was 98-04 was my favorite. especially the cobra, omg so hot. but i think the new one looks ugly, just something is not clicking. maybe when svt is done with it, it will redeem itself.

How do they do that? Advertisement.
If you pay for advertisement in a magazine and they announce your product sucks, would you keep running ads? No.
I know its not true for all magazines but knowing this keeps me from really believing what all of them say.

Jesus, there's so many closed minded people around here. Why can't anyone just accpet the fact that the new Mustang is actually a good car? It's been receiving lost of praise for handling characteristics, rigid chassis, tight structure, ride quality, and of course power. Not bad for a $25,000 live axle car out of America. Just because the Mustangs of yore were archaic rattling drag machnies, doesn't mean every Mustang will be.

Keep in mind that the new mustang will not only have to be a great car, but it will also have to be around for a while to prove itself before you can expect people to like it. Unfortunately, when people think of a mustang they have negative impressions off the bat.
