where do you live? well you need insurance by law. what state do you live in? you can just carry the minimum liability coverage at least. now, if you have your car financed odds are good that your finance company requires you carry insurance with no higher than a 500 deductible. if they find out you dont have insurance, they will charge you for theirs, which is usually about 25 bucks per day and if something happend, it wouldnt do **** for you, it would just cover your car. they just want to protect their collateral

I live in TX, i bought my car from a so-so place that doesn't require all that bs. I've had liability and they haven't said ****. I just don't wanna be like this one girl at work with a 7th gen paying 225 for the car and 300 for insurance. that is total bs! by the time she finished paying her car, she could bought a S2k with out paying **** for insurance.

yeah but your also 25. my insurance will drop a lot when i turn 25. NJ is high also but people in NJ make more money than people in OK. so not only are our rates high, our income is low.

yup, for example, someone is doing my job get 6-7 an hour. In tx, it 9-11an hour. my boss in ok would make like 12-14 down here its 17-20. big difference that is why some OK nurses drive down to TX.

ill be the first to admit that insurance is a crappy deal and shady as well. the insurance commisioner in OK, where im from, just got impeached for fraud. just cause they pay me doesnt mean i love it. seriously guys, try the hartford. they save people all sorts of money in texas.

I think we should at least get a portion of our money back if "anything" that occurs is found to not be our fault. I mean its just ridiculous.

well, typically the other persons company should pay for it and you shouldnt have any out of pocket expense. now if you tell your insurance company, they cant charge you for something that you had no control over, so they remove your "incident free discount" and that will jack you up quite a bit. now if you already have an accident on your record, then you wouldnt see a premium change if it isnt your fault, you just wont get the discount back for a while longer. in most states, washington and a few other states not included, they go back 3 years for "chargeability" and 5 years for discount eligability. in washington its only 3 years for anything. the best way around not getting charged for a nafa (not at fault accident) is to not tell you company, they wont ever pay anything, but they sure as hell will screw you over and raise your premium.

Im paying around 145$/month for full coverage on my 04 EVO and 02 Protege with Allstate, thats with a 0$ comperhensive and 250$ collision deductable. Last year I had 11 points on my license, no accidents tho. And I just had 2 claims this year for comprehensive from hurricane damage on the Protege and my Civic, which I traded in on my EVO. My insurance only went up 90$ every 6 months when I upgraded from the Civic to the EVO. I guess I lucked out! Oh yeah and I'll be 30 tomorrow.
