I'm paying about $250 a month with Allstate for my 01 Civic (including covering all of the mods at full value, not replacement value), my truck, the Miata, and the 95 Civic. Full coverage on all, $500 deductible. Clean record, all the usual multi-policy, defensive driver, and good student discounts.
Something said in this thread bothers me: not at fault accidents. It does depend on the state you live in, but I know that Oklahoma and Texas both do this: if you are determined to be not at fault by the police, then your insurance company cannot raise your rates even $.01. I had this problem with Farmers (***********), they raised my rates for a not at fault accident that they paid out no money for, I took them to the state insurance commission and sued them, they refunded me the entire balance I had paid due to the increase and lowered my rates back to what they were before the accident. This is state law and can vary from state to state, so check with someone where you live to see if you can be charged for a not at fault accident.
Also another thing to look at with insurance: Geico, State Farm, Progressive, and many other companies will instantly drop you if you have a claim involving a car with performance modifications. Geico and State Farm have both dropped and denied coverages for cars with nothing more than a cold air intake and exhaust, Progressive will drop any car with nitrous, turbo, etc, but they don't mind minor performance modifications. So if you have one of these companies and get into a wreck, they will try to say that they are not financially responsible, the performance modifications violate their policies, etc and will not pay anything out. This is illegal unless they told you or it states in writing (most do not) that performance modifications will void the coverages, but you will still be stuck holding the liability costs for the wreck until you go back and sue your company. I recently dropped Geico because of this, and anyone else that has any modifications and is insured with Geico I urge you to drop them instantly.
Some companies don't mind, in fact, Allstate has agreed to cover my turbo kit, wheels, interior, stereo, suspension, and even brake pads (race pads) for a small increase in my premium, I think it was around $26/6 months for an additional $15000 in coverages. They just want the agent to see the car, you to get an appraisal, and to have all receipts just so they can verify the true worth of the modifications and that they are installed on the car. They won't drop you for performance modifications, and I have never heard of them doing so. In fact domestic car guys, mostly Corvette and Mustang guys, love Allstate because they will cover modifications of any kind as long as the insurance company knows about them.
Just some thoughts for you to all think about, because insurance can save your butt if you cause a wreck, but if you go with the wrong company, you could be screwed for a very long time.

I pay about $2400 a year for full coverage $250k/$500k/$100k. One car on my plan,
2 speeding tickets. 22 yrs old. But I also have $5,000 in aftermarket equip coverage. $500 deductable.
Live in the valley in California.
My car is paid off so all i have is the insurance payment!!!

I use a smaller company called
western United Ins. and they said they would cover all my bolt-ons, my rims, and exhast...but they made me write and sign a letter saying that I didn't use my car for racing. They still would've covered everything but it would have cost like $100 more per month.
