is the 7th gen civic better than the 6th?

7th gen looks light years better stock, and pretty sweet modded. Besides why pay like 11-15 for a 6th gen with 40 thou when you could get a new 7th gen, which i think is easier to swap a k20 into than it is into a 6th gen.
who knows the 8th gen since its built on the same platform may have some swaping possibilities into a 7th gen.

also the 6th gen has more after market products aviable for it as well as swaps (b-series)
I don't know, but for some reason Civic is losing ground to Corolla. It looks like Corolla will sell more units for 2004 despite Civic having a 2 door model and sales bolstered by the Hybrid. Honda is going to have to come up with something good with the 8th gen. or else it may have to permanently settle for 2nd place or lower for the subcompact class.

civic has double wishone multi-link rear suspension corrolla solid rear-type suspension. Pretty weird that the corrolla would have such an outdated suspension set-up given the fact they they have a trim with 170hp.

"...with torsional rigidity up 53 percent and bending rigidity up 19 percent. The benefit should improve crash-test scores, reduce NVH, and provide a more stable ride. Despite the stiffer body structure, curb weight has only increased 50–70 pounds, depending on the model. And overall length has decreased slightly for both models."
"While the previous Civic’s steering was precise, it often felt like it hadn’t had its morning coffee yet. This has been addressed with the new model, as the steering ratio is quicker (now with a 14.5:1 ratio). It’s variable-effort now, too, for easier parking and a better feel while driving."
"The engine is lighter and more compact, and the five-speed manual has an even better shifter feel thanks to improved First- and Second-gear synchros and a new, flexible flywheel that minimizes engine vibration."

6TH Gen just got OWNED!
Just kidding.
6th isnt a bad car at all. dual A-arm front end, longer trailing bar rear end, B series swap potential, tons of aftermarket support, etc. &th gen is newer, stronger, bigger inside while smaller outside, still got the great rear suspension, developing aftermarket, tons of acura parts swap potential, more motor stock, and mac struts are pretty cool as honda does them. I dont know if anyone else noticed but the front of our cars dont have to be ridiculously stiff to maintain good camber in the corners, roll has much less effect on us.

Just think about it this way. Your going to be paying around 10-16k for your car depending on if you go used 6th gen si or new 7th gen. With that much money, would you prefer a car where all the mileage on it is yours or drive a car thats been raced the *** out it. I know not everyone with a si races, but i know most of the kind of people that would shell out the extra money to get one like to race or drive there cars really aggressively.
