Those engines are derivatives of the 2JZ so I'm wondering if he swapped one in.....hhhmmmm. It should fit with no problem. But I LOVE that thing.

it IS a 2JZ, just a GE instead of a GTE. Thats what the NA supras have. BTW, you cant just put a Turbo Supra package on an IS3000 like most say. The GTE is WAY beefed up on the inside, but you could do an easy swap like steak said

So do you think that is300 has the swap or just built quite nicely? I remember debating getting one of these cars over something like an EVO. This is exactly why. Damn I love that car so much.

I think there is a v8 or v10 is300 and if you built it up I could see it hitting that high of an HP output.

the v8 is wont be out for another few years.. it was just a concept a while back, some guys wanted to know if a v8 would fit in there.. and it did... but the designation wouldnt be is300 anymore.. it would be is430

You gys are talking about the IS that the show "RIDES" took a V8 out of a GS400 and supercharged it, and then plopped it into the IS. I think that was Troy Tripanye. That guy builds the sickest HP cars like the TwinTurbo "Chicayne" or his "Quadraduece". Thats the all wheel drive 30's roadster. Him teamed up with Chip Foose are an unstopable combo.

supposedly a nice 2jz-gte w/ 6 speed and ECU is like $10K now. Thanks F&F. It was probably a swap though seeing as how you can buy kits for a 1000HP Supra now.
