Man my mom could be driving 2 freaking MPH down the street and soem a$$ could side swipe her and kill her. Some deer or kid could run out she swerves and dies etc. Street racing is not the cause of everyones death. Dont think i wouldnt be sad and i damn well would be but what! im goign to be mad at the deer or little kid that ran out in front of her etc.!! Things happen but like i said you gotta take responsibility for your actions in any situation

I totally agree with you. My dad just picked up the 440 Magnum Charger he used to race as a kid from the junkyard and is restoring it. I hear a million stories of how all five of my uncles were racers back in the day, on the track and on the street. But back then it was different. They were racing cars built for a straight line and they actually had a ****ing clue of how powerful their cars were. They didn't weave in between traffic and try to drift down canyons, they just played for a few seconds out of a red light. And the roads were much emptier then.

That was fairly safe fun. What kids, and I emphasize KIDS, do nowadays is just stupid. I give them all the credit in the world for being able to do that sick **** with their cars between traffic, I'm sure it takes a lot of skill, but I still say it's stupid. Talented - but stupid.

One day during high school I was standing at a street corner pressing the button to make the walk signal go. A drunk driver in an SUV crossed four lanes of traffic, jumped the curb and plowed straight into me. I was crushed between the pole, then run over by the SUV. I suffered numerous broken bones and I obviously still have pretty nasty scars to date. I walk with a limp now constantly. I also have Severe Hemophilia A (a bleeding disorder affecting about 1% of Americans), so the internal bleeding was a huge problem and I nearly lost my life. I suffered major internal injuries due to the expansion of the blood hemmorhages inside my chest cavity.

At the time I was in the papers as the most promising young cross-country runner Monroe had ever had at the high school. I had overcome everyone telling me a career in sports was impossible for me (due to my condition) just to have this a$$hole take it away in a few split seconds. Trust me, you can die anytime, anyplace, for any reason. The only sure-fire way your mom has of not being killed by a streetracer is to stay inside on the second floor of your house (I know a kid who put his car through a livingroom wall...first floor is bad!). If you go on the street, you have to have confidence in yourself to be safe AND confidence in others not to put you in danger.

I don't agree with the racing on public roads but when I was a little younger we did it.Taking someones plate could get you a beating if the racers know,once some a$$hole said he had a plate and was reporting us, two of the guys with us were on bikes and each took a side of his car and cut the tires.It was funny watching some idiot try to chase two gsxrs on 4 flats.Around here there is a huge industrial park and we used to go there on the weekends and drag all day.

once I was in a 25 zone around princeton here and it has a semi-blind 90 degree turn. I was going like 32 and when I came around it I saw an SUV backing out of a driveway like 50 feet from where I was. my vic stopped easily with like 30 feet to go but the driver, the two people standing outside and the next door neighbor all got on my case. I was trying to be nice and aplogize at first but they just kept talking and I couldn't get a word in.

Finally I was just like, you know what, shut up and call a cop. they did. the final result was they looked like a bunch of asses. their entire case consisted of we saw a kid in a black civic something or other (they couldn't even describe tinted windows, lowered, rims... ) came around the corner too fast.

The cop's conclusion:

1) no cop saw anything so there is really nothing to be done
2) their eyes are not laser guns so they have no clue of how fast I was going
3) there are no tire tracks so I obviously didn't brake that hard
4) nothing was hit, no one was hurt so it really doesn't matter

he was pissed that they called him out for this crap, so to top it all of he asked if I wanted to press charges against them for harassing me. I said no but I did want to press charges against the male (the other two were female) because he put his hands on my ride and his keys were in one hand and he left a little scratch...***!

I remember the guy calling me a "punk kid" when they were all shouting. after the cop left I just smiled and said look who got punked out!

one of my good memories with cops...99% of the time they stereotype me as a young male driver driving a hot looking car and screw me over

oh yeah...I forgot to mention...I won the case against the guy scratching my window sill area...it left like a 1 inch scratch...I argued to the judge that since it was a custom paint job that I had to replace the entire thing to make it match

the guy argued back that it's not right that he was going to have to dish out 20 grand for a stupid little scratch

to that I replied "maybe you should have thought about that before you decided to scratch my car...you don't see me going around scratching your car"

the judge took my side...probably the most expensive scratch of his life

Id say that 90% of the people that try to race or work on there cars suck at it, my area has like all these kids who dont no how to drive and they get behind the wheel crash there car and next day there dads got them a new Altima etc. I think alot of people that "streetrace" just try to key word try to do it cuz they think its cool and they suck at driving. Im not on any bandwagon here, i admit i will race on the street but and i know blah blah its bad but im prolly 1 of the 10% of people that i feel im in control of my car and surroundings etc.

I'm just pointing out how hypocritical they are.

I never said streetracers were cool. I defend their right to drive the way they want. the street belongs to everyone, including street racers. if they want to break the law, then fine they run the risk of getting caught. but I get tired of people bitching about the way they drive because all their talk amounts to NOTHING!

i love it when I'm driving down a four lane and light turns red. i'm first in line in the right lane, some minivan comes up behind me and HAS to go in the left lane. everyone always has this "me first" attitude. if you do that to me, I'm going to blow your fuking doors off...even when my acclaim was bone stock 106 HP just by getting a better reaction time i would beat just about everyone out there on the roads if I felt like going at it. a select few would catch me in 2/3 gear.

I had an assh@le rear end me...
It was a little nick in the paint well 2 of them from the bolts on his front plates
he was being all asslike saying I magically swerved infront of him. i asked him for his lic he said left it at home so threatend to call the cops after he was making statements outloud my rice rocket saying I was wreckless driving idiot, this coming from a highschool kid. He was afraid what I might do so he gave his number and his actual address so I must intimidiated his *** because I paid him a visit later make sure he wasnt messing with me. aka had his plates written down.
I went to my bodyshop and they said it would cost 800 dallors to do because my body kit and they would have to repaint whole back of the car He couldnt pay up so i filed an insurence claim and needless to say they found out he doesnt have a drivers license on him, it was stolen. Driving without a license even if it was stolen is a felony, soo ouch for him and insurence rates

i am not going to defend a teenager's (and uber cool old guys still street racing) right to drive like a dumbass. its not just running a risk of getting caught there HOSS (see top for definition if you forgot). do you still not see the stupidity in it...even if its some remote road...theres no barrier like there is at a track. subtract the 'thrill' of it all and realize this. streetracing you risk a massive fine...hundreds. maybe even jail time for reckless endangerment. who knows. but for $8 anybody can go to the track and race all night. even those kids whose best mod is lettin the tailgate down on their minitruck.
