idling problems

when my car is just sitting there idling(spelling) the rpm will drop below 1 and it will start to stutter like it's going to stall, does anyone know what could be causing this? one of my friends said it might be bad fuel....

03civicdx is an unknown quantity at this point
well first of all theres alot of stuff that could be wrong, first how long has this been happeneing, is it stick or boring.. i mean auto, you could have a bad coil, seeing as we have a "DIS" system meaning distributorless as well as a "COP" Coil over plug system you car just may need a goofd tune up, Also we have what you call a map sensor on the car, Also possible cause of erratic idle, a Vacuum Leak will make an irratic idle, to be honest thats a very large question that would be very hard to answer on the computer, you may have a clogged fuel filter or clogged injectors any little thing could be going wrong so you have to start testing things
