Are our seventh gen civics worse than the previous generation?

bolt ons can't do anything

Any honda civic is a **** car for "racing." They are better than the previous generation because they have better suspension setup, more comfortable seats, better lighting, quieter ride and engine, and better fuel economy.
Why must everyone insist on our cars sucking because they dont have any power? THEY ARENT SUPPOSED TO.

yeah it might not be the fastest but is lighter than a DC5 or an EP3 so ir ur looking for a honda to modify the hell out if it i'd buy the 7th gen civic it looks as nice as the rsx and is lighter and i love the dash of the 03-04 cars hey witha k20 and a turbo u can make arroun 300+ hp plus everybody who buys a honda civic any gen and an integra(exept type R) if they want serious power they will also have to go with a swap so the 7th gen is just like another previous gen honda slow, cheap and better than american cars.
When I first got my car, my friend from work and I were taking a ride downtown. he has a del sol, gutted and other stuff, quick little fukcer. a/w we stop at a light and this black si (99-00) and before I know it he's already trying to hook up a race. I'm like wtf. a/w he said he thought that the 7th gens were at least 160hp, I was like no, they have the same as the 6th gens, he laughs, I laugh and tell him to STFU.

dood is yall goin to speed or looks? if speed buy the crappiest car in the whole n drop all u got in ur bank account...then itll b the shiet..civic is just dependable to me and is affordable...if u want something to look..i hear lambo diablo is the ****
not all cars arent meant for performance use. be glad your not in the geo metro, neon, sunfire, daewoo etc range. i bought my civic because its best car in its class in my price range. im glad i bought it with all the traveling im doing. not only its a good car, but you get excellent gas mileage with 86 pump gas.

Coupes are made in America (Ohio)
Sedans are made in Ontario (Canada)
from what I know anyway.
my 2k1 coupe gave me a hell of a lot of problems...

eeeh..... ok, if you took a D15 from a 5thgen Civic LX b/c you know, that car has LOTS of aftermarket support, compare it with a D17 from an LX take the same mods, intake header, exhaust, which do you think will have better gains?
I mean, the 7thgen has options too! We have engine swaps choices, we have turbo choices!
Maybe the aftermarket hasnt fully warmed up yet???
But be happy we have one of the best gas milleages in the gas saving class of cars.

Forget the numbers I have plenty of fun driving my civic ex so if on paper and at the track our numbers arent big (although I would not mind them being big) the point is we get 30mpg and have fun doing it.
P.S. They're sexy

I love my civic but it's time to trade it in for something else. If I had waited for a 2003 or something I might feel different but I'm parting out this weekend and should be in an '05 RSX TypeS by November.
i think the 7thgen looks better then the old ones, especially since everyone has the old ones. And i think people don't have respect for our cars as "Street racers" because they just came out, and there is no "Greddy turbo kit" or some mainstream company making FI for us, that everyone knows about. And swaps for us right now cost so much, unlike a b16 swap. Therefore, its expected most of us are running a d17 and not swapped, unlike the older ciivcs which could be swapped cuz they are cheap and easy to do.

All good points ^^ but don't forget that the 7thgen went to MacPherson Struts instead of the tried and true double wishbone. That to me was the biggest let down....look at all the problems they had with it..I went through 4 sets of OEM struts before I got my '04's as a gift from Honda.
i love my civic.... its soooooo gooood on gas lol.. and just so sexy it is kinda slow.. but hey its nothing we can do about it.. honda is targeting the families that want low millage etc etc..
