Yes another Vtec Thread
Just little story so read and have fun. So I take my friend to the race track for event. She never been before and is a real noobie when it come to car talk. So on the drive in she goes this is a civic EX right? I tell her yes and then ask why do you ask. She say oh well you have vtec that must be kickass. Then I asked her where did u get that from. She tell me her friend told her this guy whomever it was. So I have to explain to her that vtec is nothing specail and to tell her friend to go find something else to do besides talk about cars. This is the second time this week I have heard someone talk about vtec as this great thing. Can we do somethign to these youngin to teach them a lesson.

I dont know I mean I love to milk it when people think vtec is like a turbo. If someone has the notion you have a fast car just smile. Dont go on about it, but at my high school they think my Vtec is something "beastly" as one kid says (hes cool tho) and I just smile and never actually say no or yes I just let them do the thinking.

V-TEC is the **** without that our cars would only have as much horsepower as a 3 cylinder Metro. Ahhh I love V-TEC it is the ****...LMAO. I have also heard this so many times I can't help but laugh in their faces.

Rep Power: 0 Ride in one, I owned on kid! No ever gets to keep theres for long though. Mine got robbed but there craking down on racing in MA big time. They tow your car if you have Integra wheels or cloth seats and the fine the stuff out of you.

Rep Power: 0 When my VTEC broke, I told my friends about it, and one of them just kept lookin at me in disbelief, and saying, "Naw, you don't have VTEC". I'm like, "look dumbass, it says it right there!" as I point to my spark plug cover. He still didn't believe me. They all swear that VTEC is a secret force that is brought forth by the JDM Gods.
Most of the single cam v-tec engines are designed with fuel economy and emissions in mind while the dohc engines (I like the b-series) are designed with performance in mind and the difference is night and day.The b18c in the type r (late 90s) was the first factory engine ever to make 100 hp/liter.

Rep Power: 380 V-tec.... Because nothing is as annoying as a Power spike right in the middle of your torque curve....
If your in to road racing and autocross you know what I mean... theres nothing more annoying as a sudden power spike right in the middle of a turn. (Be it V-Tec or Turbo lag...) of course the S2000 guys have it much worse then us. most of the time I dont even notice the change over..
