2005 Evo
Definitely. Test drove one. It's a bit harsh, but as long as you're not gonna have old folks in your car it's great. Just make sure you can put up with the "boy racer" looks, and kids always trying to stoplight race. My friend has an STi and he gets that often.
The car is one of the best performers in its price class. If not THE best. It really is a blast to drive, but I'm not sure what's going on with Mitsubishi and their warranty policy on that car. I've heard of them not coming with any warranty what so ever.

True. Just wish the interior looked more like the interior of a 30,000 dollar car rather than an econobox interior with a few "perks." Regardless, you're getting 50,000 dollar performance, so it's a trade off.
^^ definetely agree about the interior. wish you got a little more displacement for that money though. why are all four cylinders seem to be 2.0L now?
I wonder what I could do with the 2.8 from Audi

EVO is a performance car if your looking for luxury look elsewhere its **** poor inside and the only thing makes car special is performance.
looks are alright better than the STI with its boy hood racer post box hood scoop and rediculis looking woobly rear wing.

The main ones, Evo/WRX, are 2.0L because they are rally homologation cars and WRC cars displacement limit is guess what, 2.0L...
yeah ok. and the rules for wrc, just like any other kind of racing, is that a certain % of the total of cars produced must meet the specs that are used to race. it would be very easy to have a standard evo and its trim levels MR etc. that are out now...just add a GT trim level with a slightly larger motor
you might even be able to get away with changing the bore on the standard evo block, kind of like the difference between my plymouth acclaim and the dodge spirit...2.2 in the spirit was widened to 2.5 in my acclaim

GASP!!!...You're not suggesting..oh no it can't be...you're suggesting car manufacturers do more R&D!?!?!?!?!
haahahahah...never...I would never suggest car manufacturers are wrong in any way
hmm...2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR GT...I like the sound of that...2.8T...I like the sound of that too (I'm just thinking 2.8 because the limit now for NHRA is 2.8 for a four banger)

Also, bigger does not equal better.. take the USDM STi EJ25.. 2.5L motor, etc etc.. Most guys I know w/ STi's wish we got the EJ20 2.0L JDM STi motor.. Reasoning? The 2.5 is US specific to satisfy the american "no replacement for displacement" theory.. and has about oh.. 2 yrs of R&D on it now. Take the 2.0L JDM STi motors.. at least 6 times the R&D put into it.. same goodies like AVCS(suby vtec), big injectors, IHI VF39 turbo, catless up-pipe etc.. but it still is a stronger, better put together motor.. hp rating are actually higher than the US spec motor, albeit the 2.5 about the same torque stock. And stout, with all the years of developement and bugs being ironed out. Could take way more than the US motor.. Same w/ Mitsu, the 4g63 is a motor w/ about 15 solid years of production. LOTS of power to be made. And they run 500hp on stock internals!! I love the 4g63 as is and wouldn't want to see a new motor go in the Evo. Ok, I end the rant.. sorry. But I'm the AWD turbo guru being a huge WRC fan and all..

but reason the us version is not rated at 300hp is because of pollution control equipment. the whole reason the USspec sti has a differnt motor is because of pollution control regulations
goddamn california and I read somewhere they are going to get even tighter in the next few years!

base model 27,030. You could probably negotiate that. Make sure when you go to a dealership you a getting a stock 350. You can also order a bone stock if you want. It usually takes a month or so. And what cool about those car is the engine is the same throughout all the models
