I seen some badass JDM style cars. I seem some badass kitted cars. As long as everything flows together you cant make a car look bad.
Most people bag on huge spoilers (on Civics) because they look ugly...... it totally distorts the flow of the car. They get labeled as rice or whatever..... but they're not rice, they're just ugly.
Basically, its all about flow and not **** thats glued on the car just for the sake of it being glued ont he car

a few weeks ago some guy cleared his headlights and some other dumbass member on this site started talking crap saying it looks ghetto, and he should paint them black and put the amber back on to be JDM....
i like z3 fenders with "altezzies" and i want to have my muffler at a certain angle.. i love agressive bodykits coz it makes me fast.. i want my car to stand out from the rest of the crowd to so i need to paint it like the eclipse from fast and the furious like walker did.. put two big ones and live my life a quarter mile at a time..

Rep Power: 0 I have a genuine type R, JDM steering wheel and i think not because i have it but i think its the best steering wheel ive ever seen. jdm is just oem products in japan hense japanese domestic market, some people like it some dont. im a fan of jdm but some people take it overboard, because people see its a trend and for some reason they have to follow it.

Rep Power: 0 i was going the show route before too... but i was thinking, i'm never gonna win a trophy anyways... and plus its a daily driver... so i decided to put some jdm touches here and there... made my car look a bit cleaner... IMO, going all show just isn't practical anymore,
its really good if your tryin to get people's attention, you certainly achieve that with the neon colors and all the bling bling... but i have had enough of people revving at me and I already get enough attention from my gf anyways so i didn't need anymore while driving... it came to a point that my white wheels caused haters to bash in my window one day... that was enough to make me mod "JDM style" (not necessarily JDM parts, but JDM styling)
JDM is jus better for street cars IMO... its clean, simple, and pretty much all of the JDM parts are functional in some way... JDM styling attracts attention without attracting TOO much attention, and that is exactly what I want to achieve when modding my ride... I want to attract the attention of those car enthusiasts that appreciate JDM styling... not all those people that can see (and hear) me a block away...

this is how it goes. One person gets JDM stuff (strut bar, red stiching, headlights etc....) They post on a webpage much like this one. Everyone ooooh's and aaaah's at it like its some great marvel. Next they plop down about 3X the price for the equivalent USDM part so they can look as cool (or partly anyway) as that other guys car. A trend gets started, people start "making" their stuff JDM by painting it black, than some gay crap manufacturer mass produces terrible fitting stuff that looks horrible and calls it "JDM style." Then a craze is started............AYE!

I simply like the clean styling I've done to my car. Just because my headlights are black doesn't make them JDM, it makes them clean since everything on my car is black or silver, not chrome. My mugen replica lip? It's definetly not JDM, it's made by an American company. It's styling is similar to a Japanese company's lip but I don't claim it's JDM. And just because something's black doesn't mean it's JDM. It just means it's black and maybe the driver likes it.

Something stupid happened to this forum.. Too many people think they run **** like that thread before when a newb came on here and felt it was necessary to post a random pic of some guys car and bash him for what he did to it. As much as I love my car, I'm slowly inching away from this site and I've been here for a couple years.
