lotus 340R ahhH!!!!
my good friend's brother in law (daily driver is an Audi A6, used to have a 3000 GT VR4 project car) just bought a Lotus 340R from a dude from microsoft here in seattle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its sooo awsome, i have yet to see it in person but ive seen the pics, and its impressive... like a supergokart haha right hand drive.
its ssoooo awsome.
anyways, one question:
i looked up the specs and it says the engine is a 1.8L DOHC inline-4 making 190 HP and about 146 lb-ft of torque. now ive heard somewhere that the older model lotus elise used the B18 Integra Type-R engine. is this the one? or is this the Celica GT-S engine? both are 1.8L. ohyeah, the year is 2000 on this 340R.
SO AWSOME!!!

The older ones (like the 2000) used the 1.8L Rover K-series engine, just like the Elise (not the Honda K-series, completely different). The newer ones use the Celica GT-S engine with a Lotus ECU flash.

yup, the only ones sporting Honda engines are ones that have been swaped...
and just incase someone wants to see what one looks like

Its basically a Striped down Elise...

See the Family Resemblence?

So the 340R is essentially an open-wheel Elise! Nice work there comparing them both!

Just the Elise..... Theres just something about a car with 190HP that can beat F40 Ferraris and GT3 Porsches on a road course that just seem impressive..... That and they only go fo $40,000....... which is why a nice 111S is going to be my next car.

Thanks!
Basically they just stiped an Elise down to the Bare essentials.... wheels, Seat, Steering wheel brakes and and engine....
what more do you need??? ahhhh so the K-Series Rover engine is used, not ITR B18... yeah i was wondering that 146 lb-ft of torque rating was a bit high for a honda engine... not even the K20 ITR motor puts out that much (?)
