dont know if it's a repost.... but I dont think Honda should put a 2.0 in all their models.... unless they can get 30 city and 36 highway miles per gallon.... If I had a choice, they should put in a 1.8 DOHC.
Since the Civic will be moving more up-market (with the introduction of the Fit/Jazz in North America) it's pretty much guaranteed that the 8th gen Civic will have a 2.0L engine. It will be the i-VTEC I engine found in the Stream, found here: http://world.honda.com/news/2003/4031127.html I know that I'm not Honda, and that by me saying it's pretty much guaranteed is useless to most of you, but it doesn't make sense for Honda to not put that engine in the next Civic. It gets great fuel economy (the best in its class for a 2.0L engine, actually), and has great power (155 hp and 140 lb.ft of torque). You can see a video on the new i-VTEC I engine here: http://world.honda.com/HDTV/news/200...27a/index.html
Most of you will bitch and moan saying "Honda will never put that engine in the next Civic" but, like I said, it wouldn't make sense for Honda not to put it in, considering they've obviously invested quite a lot of time and effort into modifying the K20 making it a cleaner burning engine, and give it better fuel economy (which is what the Civic is for).
Then, they will have the Jazz/Fit as their entry level model, which will undoubtedly be a sub-2.0L class vehicle. This way, enabling the Civic to compete on more even terms with other 2.0L vehicles, like the Mazda 3, Focus, etc...
Call me an idiot, call me wishful, but when you sit down and think about it, I will probably be right in about 1 years time

Notice it says reliable resource has told them. That has nothing to do about real news. Also notice the word probability.
