turbo coupe or new SI
turbo coupe or new SI
i cant decide if i want to boost my 04 civic ex or trade it in for a new 04 black civic SI. if i trade in, its going to work out to have the same payments. if i keep my civic and boost it what next
thats about it cuz the d17 blows, but if i get th SI i will some day boost it but the money i have for a turbo will be used on other stuf first like full coilovers and rims, btw if i get the civic si im going to black it out black paint, 5% tint, and solid black rims.it should look sick and it has so much after market support i would know what to buy next. anyways could u guys tell me what you all think, thanks.

I'm kinda in the same situation.
I've been thinking about trading my 01 EX AT in for either an 04 EX MT or an 04 Si. Not too sure on what I want to do, if anything.

but with the turbo ill make about 180whp i could get beat by a rsx with a few mods but if i had a turbo on a EP3 i should be over 250whp then i could keep building a motor that responds to aftermarket parts
I need TP for my bunghole

Get the SI.
More upgrade options
And the Upgrades will acctually be worthwhile.
Turbos are great but alot of people have had issue with the turbo on the 7th gen.

Is it possible to get a good deal on a used rsx type S? The 2005 are out with 10 more horses and upgraded looks. I think a lot of leased cars are going to be coming back this season, some 2001, 2002, 2003.

for those with 02 or 01 likle me with warranty closing soon go with boost. Best bang for buck.
Mango owns a wrx says that yourinmyworlds car is faster than his and hes a boosted 7thgen.
180whp will smoke an rsx type S even with thier bolt ons.
Not many people with rsx go with turbocharging thier engines.
Ep3 is also hideious looking like a damn egg.

Having to deal with the check engine light and what not even though with the Synapse Missing Link to use as a piggyback. I'm not going for boost anymore because of the time and money that will be involved with the Tuning part of it. There are people who have had great success boosting their 7th gen. I just don't wanna take on that project anymore. If Hondata was to make something for our cars, it would be a hell of a lot easier to boost. Like I said, I don't wanna sound like I know it all about turbos. You just learn some stuff from reading about it in the threads. It just seems like the problem is mostly with electrical stuff and tuning. Timing of the turbo and what not. The turbo itself works fine.
I never saw CEL lights in old muscle cars
anyways mostly the problem is with the kit makers not the turbo people...
custom turbo people
take time research your setup alot before you buy it!!
know about all the parts your buying and how they are going to go together, also how they will effect other things like the tranny etc.

I'd say keep the civic if its paid off, and turbo it. You dont have to run high psi and risk things. Most of the problems with turbo 7thgens have been from the installers, not the kit itself. I dont like how the new Si's look but you have to like what you have to drive.

I'd say go for it man. I can't believe its only going for that much. The shifter is also the reason that I chose not to go with it too. Even my Dad told me to get that last year but I didn't like the shifter and chose to go with the EX instead.
I didn't realize that we were limited to aftermarket products at the time of purchase.
If I knew that, I would've taken an Si instead.

Eh, I have 03 Si.
And arm rest is not needed at all, Shifter is comfortable as is.
It's really up to you.
There's more afteramarket options, if you decided to go with new si.
