Well this is what I did since i'm a student and low on cash lol. I still have my civic but my mom took over the payments since she liked it
. So then I bought a 92 civic hatch and swapped a jdm gsr its lot of fun and by next summer I should have enough for a full race turbo kit and would be putting down 300whp. Turbo has to be well maintained so if you treat your car like crap i.e. oil change every 10k instead of 5 and stuff like that turbo isn't for you.

Swap in a K20 from a Type-S. Lots of power and torque to begin with and lots of potential with basic bolt ons and ECU tuning.
My buddy turboed his 2000 Si and has nothing but problems. If he could go back he would just swap in an H22. He's even thinking of selling his built motor with turbo just so he can do the H22. Less headaches with all motor.

You could always buy a 1989 CRX ($2,000), cheap ls engine($700) and a 100 shot of NOS ($300). For the price of a SF turbo kit ($3,000) you can have a fast car.
It ia not about just speed. It is about driving a fast car that looks and feels good. The CRX is fast, but I love to ride in my civic with leather, cruise control, a/c, etc.....
