Where is everyone I wonder
Hey Telly you would have been proud of me this weekend. I ripped my centre radio console out. I'm thinking of adding some LED's to change the colors. Where did you get your LED's from? What's the best way of testing them without putting everything back together. Although I think to start off with I'm just going to get some additional neon lighting going. I just need to pick a color them. I'm also planning on painting the trim, as soon as I decide on that color as well.

Hey bud, you're right, I AM proud of you.
I get my LED's from www.lsdiodes.com - they have THC3 ones I'm aching to try, but they don't seem to have allowances for voltage ranges, so I dunno how they'll hold up in the 14v-12v environment of a car's electrical system. I would recommend staying with the conventional LED's.
As for testing the finished, connections, what I would do is just plug the modules in then turning on the headlights - no need to screw it all in just yet.

I have another question about the wiring. Did you hook the LED's directly to 12V or did you modify the existing circuitry where the existing light is. My thinking is that you remove the existing light and hook up the LED directly to a direct 12V power source with a resistor. I am correct.

All I did was pull the little twist plugs that originally held the incandescent bulb and replaced the bulb with an LED+resistor, retaining the use of the twist-in portion.

470 Ohm resistors. Basically you just pop in the assembled connector and if it doesn't work, flip it around. Or use a voltage tester, if you're smarter than me.
