Trade in value of 01 vic Ex

I have been killing myself all night tonite thinking about this car deal I have been working out today. I just need some advice / opinions on this being a good choice or not. I have found a 2004 wrx w/spoiler Brand new at a subaru dealer and have negotiated the price down to $21,700 <---this price is definetely excellent but they want to give me only $7100 with rims and everything. I think they should give more.

It all depends on where you try and trade it in at, and depending on the cars overall appearance. Someone with the same miles as you might get more money then you, like I said, it all depends on the dealer or place you take it to.

Yea it could take a day or even weeks, but you will get alot more money from the personal sale. dealers give you alot less because they have to turn around and sell the car and make money off it. And selling it personally, you are more likely to get thousands more then from a dealer for trade it or to sell them.

Also are you selling the car with all those mods you listed in your profile? If so, that will decrease the value of your car by alot. Dealers want the car to have OEM parts on them, and if it doesnt, they have a harder time selling it, and they will give you a lower value. Best bet would be to get the car completly back to stock and then go back.

chrisleecool has a spectacular aura aboutchrisleecool has a spectacular aura about
Would dealer still give you $21.700 even w/o trading ur VIC? cuz I thoght that dealer calculated ur Vic as a trade in. They are only giving you 7100 cuz they are selling the WRX for (cheap)$21.700 ??...ask them if they still would make the deal without trading in.
$21700 is a GREAT price on WRX man..they retail what? 25G?.... I wouldn't trade VIC if i were you..just sell it privately to some highschool kid or something..i'm sure you'll get at least 8G
good luck bud

I was going to trade in my vic for a brand new 04 WRX and they said that they would give me 14k for mine. But, my 02 had only 11k on it 6 months ago.

Was going to take the deal but after a test drive i thought that the car was defintely not worth the 22k they were offering me. Shifter feel was and the car felt heavy when i was driving it. Handling was top notch though.

Oh and try to sell it privately for more $, but if you want to get rid of it quick then trade it in.

I got a black 05 with premium, boost gauge, etc etc for 25,6xx. Invoice was 25,5xx. My car had 50k miles and was an 01 4dr EX. i was offered 7500 at first but was like f- that. So i went to searching and got someone willing to give me 9k. The trade in value SHOULD be independent of the car price. i actually negotiated them seperately, but be careful, because that is TWO variables that the dealer can screw you on. So you might get a good deal on the car, but screwed on the trade in, they'll make up exuses like "we gotta pay money to take that crap off, etc etc.. no they don't.. don't fall for it, get a better deal. They're out there.
