I feel used... Man, I'm afraid to log in to MSN every night. As soon as I sign in, 5 windows pop up, all invariably car guys, all invariably asking me car questions or for hookups or whatnot. Some guys don't even bother with HELLO, they just get right to "Can you install this for me" or "what's the ___ rating on these ___". Checkin pm's can be disheartening too. It really sucks cause I try to help everyone, but as soon as these guys get the answers they need, they don't seem to give a damn about me. I had one guy who was supposed to hook me up with something, then he went MIA for like 6 months. Now he's comin back talkin to me askin for a hookup. But of course no mention of what he said he would link for me.
I don't mind helping people, I really don't. In fact I derive great satisfaction from seeing someone happy with something I got or did for him/her. But a majority of those I aid offer nothing in return for my help, and it makes me wonder why I spent that 30 minutes typing a DIY on MSN, line by line. It's like these people keep me in their contact lists just as some sort of live car tech support and I don't think it's fair. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of guys around who appreciate my help and lend a hand when I need something, or pay me or at least hook me up for a cheap part or service (thanks SiG!). But the great majority of people, as soon as they get the info they need, close the convo and I don't hear from them till they need help again. Am I retarded for feeling like this?

The bottom line is, if the person asking for help doesn't respect you or is not thankful that you're helping them, it's best to say NO. Telly - I'm sure you have enough work on your hands with your own car, much less working on everyone elses...
On that note, I REALLY gotta finish my gauge LED project. I have all the LEDs I need and then some, but I haven't had time in weeks to crack open my cluster and continue. It's looking like I won't be able to until this weekend, at the earliest. BOO!

Rep Power: 369 Hey, I was drunk and I yelled at the Clearnet rep when I got it. I thought for a few hours it was SUE-WILL and told all my friends to call it. They ended up terrorizing some old chinese woman by accident. Sorry lady.
