dam neons
everyone always now be talkin about how great the neon srt-4's are 
people i know sold there civics to get them 
and to help to my advantage on how they are **** honda tunin did a article on a new si (minivan) and they got the greddy turbo kit and exhuast and they spent a little more but horspower was more then neon. Now MY FINAL question would u rather drive a srt-4 or a si boosted around for 18-21 grand which honda tunin did and even they admitted they wouldnt get one cause they are crappy

Of course honda tuning is going to say that. Their HONDA TUNING! Their opinion is going to be bias. Yes, some of the older neons are crap BUT this is a new gen. of "neons". If you'd like a good opinion on the two cars, get it from someone who isn't a fan of either cars. I personally don't know which one is better than the other, but if I was looking for something nice and quick off the lot, I'd go with the SRT-4. I have nothing against the two cars. I don't like them nor do I hate them. But, I would say that their both nice cars. I still love my coupe, though.

Im not really into domestics, but the Neon does have alot more power compared to an SI. I would still rather get an SI simply because its a Honda and Honda is known for their reliability. Power wise, the Neon would eat the si for breakfast...its just like going up against an Evo 8.

Rep Power: 0 ur right i know ht of course likes si's but it pisses me off that alot of people r selllin out and gettin neons and at cmi in sacraceway they were gettin there *** handed to them by hatches and evos and sti's i never said they were horrible just wanted to know what others would do i would get the si and turbo that but thats me i get what ur sayin though and u right
Some people are just "car" enthusiast, so they don't like just one make. That's probably why they ditched their slow 'vics and got a SRT-4. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the Si for looks and the SRT-4 for speed. Of course the SRT-4 is going to get their ***' handed to them stock for stock verses the Evo and the STi, but if you were to up the boost on the SRT-4 it'd be some what an even race? The SRT-4 is also ten grand cheaper than the Evo and the STi. And the hatches probably had been turbo'ed, swapped, stripped, or just full blown. What I'm trying to say is that they've had some money invested into them. No matter what, I still think they're all great cars. I wouldn't mind having anyone of those. ****, a car is just a car to me. There will always be something better than what you have out there. I'm just greatful to have some form of transportation.

Tubro Si for sure! People buy neons because they're cheap and you don't have to spend money and time working on it. *Usually* the people that have the neon know nothing about cars except that it's fast.

Imagine the SRT-4 in a couple years from now, wow, those things will just bust i bet... Look at the problems already...
Yes, quick car out of the box and relatively inexpensive, but look past RIGHT NOW, and what do you have? An unreliable dodge running more power than it can handle out of a Mitsubishi turbo....Did I mention that its ugly too?
I got props tho- its a quick car. I just wanna see what happens in the future with them reliability wise. The handling is god-awful on those things too- but in a straight line- like many American cars- its fast.

Rep Power: 0 IMO civics/HONDA's are great machines, why compare them to a car that can cost up to 3-5x as much....You can just as easily take that money that u want for a vette or a ferrari and put it into a honda. Then u'd have a nice/fast *** car and u wouldn't get beef from nobody.

Rep Power: 0 neons suck, cavaliers suck, zx2's suck. do what ever you want to them. Make them as fast as you can. they are still american cars that will fall apart in five-six years, and they seem to keep getting uglier as the generations progress(especially the cav). I'll stick with my RSX Type-S and my civic ex coupe.

Rep Power: 307 a car is a car....whether it be from chevy or honda. If you take care of it...it will take care of you. honda's and toyota's seem to be more forgiving when it comes to not taking care of em.

i dont like how the car looks but i would take it over my civic any day of the week. that car has a lot of ***** and defiantly the best bang for the buck.
plus the poeple that buy SRT4s arnt really concerned with reliability..... they just want a fast, cheap car.

Rep Power: 380 The Evo 8 and Lancer dont share the same Chassis. The Neon and the SRT-4 Do. and Yes the STi is just an upguned WRX, as well as the 1.8T vs the Gulf. Same car, same chassis, Same suspension, Different engine.

Rep Power: 811 Lol yeah. I wouldn't trade my civic for anything. It's a great car and the mods make it even more special. Buying a car with an out of the box turbo and everything kind of takes the fun out of it.

Rep Power: 0 you cant really compare the srt-4 to a SI because they are 2 different classes... srt-4 is turbocharged... its fast but when it comes down to it... the srt-4 will break down, its unreliable in my books.. its american made ;\
if i were to go and shop for another 20kcar i would either buy a SH Lude (got a base lude now) or save another 4 grand and get a used S2k id rather buy something thats reliable AND fast then something that is just fast..
i dont think i would choose the si because they look.... eww'

Why is evertyone bashing that neon? Is it because it's pretty cheap for a way faster car than ours?
Someone spoke of reliability and crap... If you're modding your car, you're destroying reliability. So please dont go there.
Dont get me wrong.. but I love our cars. But doesnt this gen civic.. the crappiest gen civic Honda ever made? Reliabilty wise...
Let me list to you the crap I went through regarding my old but loved 7th gen civic...
1) Rattling in the back seat(Yes I fixed it.. but A NEW CAR SHOULDNT EVEN BE LIKE THAT!!!)
2) Weird rumbling noise when going over some bumps and small puddles(Car also shakes)
3) Tranny blew. WHICH DROVE ME CRAZY AND SOLD MY CAR FOR A 2003 VW GTI 1.8T.
4) Tranny blew twice..
5) Weird sock smells coming from vents.. in which dealerships kept trying to fix.. or diagnose.
5 problems that I can remember.
Im not saying 7th gen civics are bad because some of you are driving good ones i guess. All I'm saying just because it's faster than your car doesnt make it the worse car in the world. My 2cents.

^^ Wow...your car sucked...but Id still have to say mine very reliable. 
I bought it brand new with 9 miles on it and put 20K miles on it without any problems. Anyways...everyone has their own opinion. Just ask Team Neon where I live.
