extended warranties....are they worth it?

it comes with a 3yr 36k mile warranty
I average 20k miles a yr right now will change to 10-11k in a yr
I plan on putting 60-80 over the next 5 yrs
is it worth it to extend my warranty to 5yr 80k miles if I can do it for $800??

At my dealer, it's $1,000 for 7 extra years, but if you don't use the warranty, you get like $800 of it back. I thought that was a pretty good deal, so I took it.
If you get some/most of your money back at the end, I'd take it. If not, I probably wouldn't.

As long as you don't make any heavy mods to your car......
We all know how nice our dealers can be.
Personally, I have the 7 year, 100,000 warranty on my car. I figure I'll need it at least once.

I got the 7year/100,000 mile extended warranty from HondaCare from my dealer for somewhere between $500 and $600 with a $50 deductable. Make sure you get it from HondaCare and not some other 3rd party and also make sure you don't have a high deductable if you do have one.
Was it worth it?
My transmission (auto) started slipping and died at 48,000 miles.
I got a brand new one + rental reimbursment (sp) for the 2 weeks the car was at the dealer awaiting the transmission to arrive. $1500 worth of goods cost me $50. =)
Definitely worth it.
But I wish my car never broke down in the first place! The best warranty is one you never have to use
