Hey guys, i need to vent!

I was driving behind this truck for a short time, getting ready to change lanes. Then suddenly, under its big fat wheels, it picked up glass and rocks and plastic!. I drove rite though the debris in my brand new 04 Civic!!!. I checked it out when i got home...oh my god...

Anyway, today i went to the stealership to ask how much a bra for my car was. ANSWER: $150!!!! There is no way in hell im gonna pay that much for a bra.

I am going on a trip to vegas soon and im expecting for chips and stuff on the highway. So i bought some Gaffer's Tape, or Painters Tape. MY friend use it for AUTOX. They say its fine and wont damage the paint job. Any of you ever tried this? Its the 3M blue painters tape. I am going to put it on my car when i go on the trip.

What do u guys think?

yea, i noticed my body shop put painters tape on a big portion of the car to prevent over spray, so i assume its ok to put it on the car. I say go for it if you dont care about your car looking goofy up front. It'll be worth it to protect the finish.

scratches, stone chips, etc... it's gonna happen. it was hard to deal with at first, but i'm use to it now. it seems like i get a new surprise everytime i wash my car.

just repaint every 2 years thats what i do but only becuase i cant decide on one color

haha yeah, damn rock chips. I get a present everytime. Im jus pissed cuz its a brand new car and i dont want it to look like its 2 or 3 years old with all that chips and stuff.

Dealerships are horrible, except Hopkins Honda. 150 for a front mask. LOL. Painters tape weas 9 bucks for a huge roll. I can make my car blue if i wanted.

dude cover the ENTIRE car ... that would look awesome. Or at least your whole hood. who needs CF when you have 3M!

i would cover my car, only if it was yellow, hahaha. I can have a cheapo spoon theme lol jk. I jus need to know if the tape will damage the paint of the car and if it will be okay under probably pretty hot weather to vegas. I dont want sticky stuff all over my car, that would be pretty bad. Im jus gonna cover up the bumper and the mirrors and the top part of the hood. and probly the grille too

i have an 04 and its chipped up on the hood cuz of a stupid fukin semitruck which flung a rock at my hood than it hit my windshield and made a crack...my front bumper has quite a bit of chips cuz its on the highway a lot
so i stopped giving a rats *** about it

get a bra then since ur on the highway alot. for temporary stuff, jus use the 3M painters tape

yup. after 4 years and 2 minor accidents, my front bumper's pretty worn up. so I went and bought a member's oem bumper and I'll be replacing my bumper sometime this week

heh...i hit a basketball goal laying over in the middle of the road going 10-15 mph and it ripped a hole in my bumper (it was raining really hard and it fell over in the middle of the road and i couldn't see it)...then i was backing out of my garage and something got caught on my bumper and ripped it all the way off. so i got it put back on until i can get a body kit. i think imma have to get my whole front end fixed cause some parts are out of line. it really sucks. i hate my car right now because of it. cant wait to get it fixed. i would use my insurance but my payments are high enough as it is.
