Help chosing a civic
Hi everyone,
i'll be getting my license soon and i want to buy a Civic,
but i was wondering what are the things to look out for when looking for a good Civic?
Im thinking about getting a 1992-94 model because of my tight budget at the moment, but i thought this would be a good choice as a first car so yeah, if anybody knows anything'about civics or can give me tips i would appreciat it very much!!!

I agree - you can get decent integra or 240sx for around the same price as that old civic you're looking for. I'll tell you that the 92-94 civic will still be reliable since i had an 86' accord until 2000 and it was reliable every year. But if you're looking for a step up then go for something better like the integra or 240sx. Maybe even an older lude - 4th gen or something. If we knew your budget we could help you a little better.
well because it will be my first car and im still studying and stuff, the budget is around about €3000 which would be around about US $3600.
I have the idea that the engines from Honda's aren't as good and stuff thats why i'm asking if there are people with Honda experience for tips...

The civic engines are definately not the fastest, but they will last forever....basically until you have enough $$ to get a new car and move on. In my family alone we've owned 2 Accords, 2 Civics, and planning on getting another Accord - never had problems with any of the cars! The price range could get you a 92-96 prelude too!!!
I think that it also depends on what you would like to do with your Honda. Do you wanna Auto X, Do you wanna Street/Drag race, Mildly modded street car, show car? etc.
For around $3600 here you can get a 5th Gen Civic (92-95) in pretty decent shape. Or you can buy a CRX or Del Sol for around that price also. You can always just buy a "beater" for pretty cheap and swap a better engine for it too.
