Words About The "Si Coupe"
http://www.hondapreview.com/civic/
So far we are not foreseeing any major changes for the 2005 model year so you will have to wait for the all new Civic in Model Year 2006. As far as the Si is concerned, Honda is planning on keeping the current version through MY05. For the next generation 2006 model, plans are to switch to a 2 door Coupe and address the issues of horsepower and styling. Honda is stating that the next generation Civic will "solidify Honda's Performance Leadership". We can't wait.

The Si and the base RSX are not the same engine. If you look at the torque number they are different. i also doubt that they will bring out a coupe model with high HP maybe 160 max and the SI will have more. But in any case Honda needs to bring over both the CTR and the ITR. Then people would start respecting US Hondas and not be complaining all day. And honda lost its performance leadership and I really don't think Honda will build cars just for the young hot rodder. We really don't make up that big of a market compared to everything else. That's why all the SE-Rs, SRT-4s are limited production, and unless they bring over the CTR the Si will be the car in that market. But I do think that they should make it into a coupe. And I also want to know how swapable the new engine will be to the 7th gens.
Ok I'm done.

but then again... Honda should get something affordable and good into the market because Scion's tC is coming up... That's going to have a more powerful engine and offer an auto and it will be competing against the Si and the base RSX.
at least here in Canada, Honda sales dropped significantly, especially civics despite the facelift... people are finally looking at alternatives that came out with new models.... has to be mazda 3 that's eating up most of that lost margin... haha...
current civic is old, you can facelift only so often...
and when Honda comes out with brand new civics for 2005 (confirmed) it needs to come out roaring, ballin and chart toppin.... i really hope Honda learned its lesson with 7thgen... we all like our vics, but Honda really missed the mark...

its called the RSX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RSX base 160hp = civic si
type s = 200hp
honda already has the coupe slot filled with the rsx, an si coupe is unlikely...besides the rsx is based on the civic anyways

If they do bring an Si coupe, it needs to be under $20,000 to get buyers. And IF the type-R's ever come this way, they need to be under $23,000. Now adays there are way too many fast cars for around $25,000. A base 350Z is like... $27,000.
I agree that Honda doesnt need to get bigger, and in the 7th gen, it didnt get much bigger than the 6thgen. The 7th gen is taller and wider, but it's shorter in length.
As for Honda, they should bring the fit/jazz over to compete with Scion and Nissan (read in the newspaper that they will bring the March and maybe Cube over) and that ugly Chevy Aveo.

haha I dont believe it! all rumors! I like to note that I went to a porsche dealership to look at Gt3's we where interested in purchasing one for the track when i noted to the salesman that another silver 911 with special sports package look alot like the carrera S. He said there is no current carrera S in the 996 platform. I was like man I seen them on the streets and lord and behold I come home look in motortrend and wow a carrera S exsists. moral of the story? salesmen are dumb not saying all are but they are only human like us. They dont have secret inside knowlege , they simply know what we do.
