Trading in Civic Lx ... suggestions?
Anyways i drive a 2001 civic lx 4dr sedan auto...i love this car but it's kinda gettin boring... i thought of hooking it up but i thought to myself that it wasn't worth it because it was an auto 4door lx model...didn't want to waste my money.. although i do have the oem spoiler and DIY clear headlights..thats about it.. good thing about it was that it got me good gas mileage and got me from point a to b.. but i'm lookin for something more fun
the thing is that my parents are thinking of trading it in for a car that i will be driving, but also i'm still in high school (senior.. grad in 2 months)... there are still some payments on the car.. but do u think that i should trade it in for something more worth while like a Acura Rsx Type S? would it be a hell to pay off? Would i still get trade in money for the civic since we paid like half of it off? I've been searching online for nearby dealers that carry a used type s.. and the closet one is about 40 miles away.. its a used Blue type S and the price runs for about 21k with 9k mileage. Idk... lookin for a fun but reliable car.. but nothing too high in price..bleh.. maybe type s for graduation present.
I was thinkin of getting other used cars like a 6 gen civic Si, another 7 gen civic in coupe/manual, or integra.. but the rsx really catches my eye
can u guys think of anything that is decent in power, reliable, and not too pricey?
I'm also not lookin for anything too old... even some new cars that are around 14-20k would be nice
Can u guys help me out?

depends what you want to do. Go for the RSX if your going to keep your car stock again. If you want a long term project to invest money in to get the best out of it, well get a 7th gen civic coupe manual. LX or EX doesnt really matter unless you like sunroof and fake vtec. Than from there well do what we all do...

You may also want to consider insurance costs of whatever vehicle you get. The insurance on a RSX-S is higher than on a 4dr AT Civic LX..
Trade in money? Thats different. I would suggest visiting a Carmax to see what they offer you for the car.. Carmax will generally give you a bit more than what a dealer would..
As for the used REX-S you found, keep in mind that price listed is jacked up, you should be able to get that car for under $20K closer to $19K IMO.. (Make sure they have a carfax on it)
If you want a car you can build up engine wise, stay away from a 7thgen (excluding the Si), you'll be spending more $ than you need to. Start off with a good base.. 6th gen or 7thgen Si..
Have fun, and congrat's on the upcoming graduation.

I had an 2001 Lx coupe and I traded it in for an Rsx-S 7 months ago. I don't regret it at all. I loved my 7thgen but like somebody else mentioned, you will be spending more money than you need to trying to go faster in a 7thgen than other cars. The Rsx-S isn't that fastest thing out there in the price range you're looking at but it still has good potential. Also, you will be able to beat 90% of ricers on the street stock.
My insurance only went up $25 from the Civic to the Rsx-S for me. My car payment only went up $80 from the Civic to the Rsx-S. Good luck with whatever car you choose.

i am trading in my 4 door lx 2001 with only 27000 miles on it for a wrx because one it is built tough and can handle the stress of the turbo and driving it a little harder and it will be fun to burn all those peeps that think they are hot **** is like boxters and gay bmw's.. anyways i did all the modding to my car for looks purposes it came out nice.. but it is time to move on..

just get a used rsx-s....or maybe even consider serious haggling for a new one....i heard that sales arent doing so well with the tsx in such a close proximity of price...maybe you can get within your range on a brand new 2004 rsx-s when the 2005's roll in
