If you have a Cold Air Intake you will have to worry about hydrolock. Hydrolock is when water gets into the cmubustion cycle (your engine) and things really get ugly from there. I have seen cars with huge amounts of white smoke come from exhaust to ppl telling me their pistons and rods got bent. Short ram intake is fine.....

Or you could simply use a bypass valve on a cold air intake.

I hydrolocked and broke a connecting rod in half and blew a softball sized hole in the back of my motor.

Titleist71 can only hope to improve
he probably had to just buy a new motor. That would suck.

I got a motor installed for 1350 or 1450. This kid I know works at a ghetto shop and he said he got it out of an 03 with 6000 miles that was totaled. Its probably stolen but my car runs and it only took him about 3 hours to swap the motor so Im happy. Didnt think to take pictures but I got the piston/half connecting rod in my room(its so cute it looks like a motorcycle piston) and ill take a pic of that.
