I wouldnt spend 10k to just to be able to spend 1k on rims

just go out and buy them, and if something comes up say you got em cheap

just say that they're safer, because of the improved cornering ability, and they will add resale to the car on trade in, plus they're OEM, so they're really good quality.

FYI I had a girlfriend that I loved more than life itself, but she decided she wasn't ready for committment so she left me.

Every relationship is give and take. Your wife/girlfriend has things she likes to do that you deal with so she should do the same for you. If you have the extra money to spend to get wheels, than she shouldn't have a problem with you getting them? Have you even brought up the topic of you getting wheels with her yet? Are you affriad to talk to her about it? I'm not asking this to make you look like a wimp, but most men fear talking about things that they think their other will not approve of. Just talk to her about it. Bring it up in a conversation sometime. Say something like, "I was thinking about getting some new wheels for the civic to make it look better." And go from there.
