Passat = Legacy
Jetta = Corrola

Ditto on the past sentiments.

CvC-v01 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
The 2005 VW Jetta, or Bora as it is known in Europe, will be based on a longer version of the PQ35 platform of the Golf 5.

The new Jetta will feature more interior space and the already spacious boot's size will increase as well.

Although it will share a lot of styling cues with the Golf it will have different front fenders and doors. It is expected to have the same nose design as the Golf with a few subtle differences.

For the first time it won't be built in Europe because medium sized sedans are not that popular there.

Instead VW will build the car in Mexico for export to Europe and the USA. The Jetta is a big seller for VW in the US.

Insiders say that Volkswagen will launch the new car at the 2005 Detroit Motor Show with US and European sales starting soon after that.

The next generation Jetta will probably only make its way to South Africa in the second half of next year.

Hmm... I like the cars. This is my first time seeing pix of the jetta and passat. The Jetta looks a lil corolla-y to me...

Now that VW sells a $100K car, it'll be funny to have the golf sitting next to it, at least price tag wise.

VW makes sharp looking cars; reliability is a big problem though, especially with electric issues.

VW has been making cars in China for the domestic market for many years. People there are probably sick of the VW logo. In the U.S., VW is chic for the young buyers. Honda, on the other hand, is a recent presence in China and very popular.

^^ all recent models (99 to 02) seem to have reliability problems with the electric system. I saw that on Consumer Reports

Even my 94 Golf would act weird sometimes. The car alarm would start ringing after driving in the rain. All the lights would shut off when i'd be driving at night.
