Question Service Manuals

I was just wonding what people thought would be the best service manual to buy. I have a 99 civic ex. I did not know if there is any that are just as good as the actual Honda service manual and would be a little be cheaper(even though the Honda manuals seem to be pretty cheap). Just trying to find the best manual to use when I need to work on my car. Thanks for any input.

Sorry for the repost. Did not know about the search feature. Great feature by the way. I was able to find about 100 threads on service manuals. It was a beginner's mistake. Will not happen again.

For exact specifics, the factory service manual can't be beat. But for simplicity, the Haynes manuals are pretty good. They have most of the info anyone would need with actual pictures instead of drawn diagrams.

I always thought HELMS manuals were really good...Haynes just seemed to incomplete for me, but for someone just looking to do simple projects it does the trick...

That's what I mean about Haynes... it's simple.

Helms is the factory service manual. They publish for the manufacturers
