The M5 is so beast, did they stop production because no one bought them? If not M5 then Cadilac CTS-V (I think thats what its called). There arn't that many perfomance oriented sedans out there with V8's.

The m5 is in hibernation for the next year or more. The 5-series has been completely redesigned in the meantime, and I would say the Audi RS6 and AMG E55 are the kings of the midsize super sport sedan class for the time being.

If anything, the car will be a direct contender with the S4. Both have V8s, both have four doors, both are about $40K.

I think I'd pick the Audi though.

when did the s4 get a v8? i know the s8 and a8 have one... even the a6 has a 6 cyl with optional turbo....

I want to say they got it for the 2004 model year because I'm pretty sure there was no 2003 S4. The A6 may have a 6cyl with opt. turbo, but the S6 has a V8 and the RS6 has a turbo V8.
