Rep Power: 0 04 Civic EX or 01 Civic LX
Hello guys. I was debating on either getting a used 01 Civic LX for $9000 or a 04 Civic EX new. Does having ABS make a difference in a vehicle?? I plan on performing a K20 swap in the future. What do you guys think??

Rep Power: 0 I'm sorry. The question is can I add the ABS feature on a Civic LX?? I know I can always add new rims, a moonroof, keyless entry, and tweeters on the car.

ABS is NOT available on the LX, and trying to install all the necessary hardware on a non ABS car is pointless and expensive. I personally do prefer ABS if possible, and it also makes most people eligible for an insurance discount.
Unless you are trying to buy a sports car, rare vehicle, or are THAT short on funds, there is no replacement for a brand new car, or at least one with very few miles, under 10K or so. Furthermore, there is also no replacement for a factory installed sunroof. Obviously there are some cars that do not have that option at all and must go aftermarket, but why put yourself through the trouble? An 04 EX is $15,800...

Rep Power: 0 Yeah get the new EX and get that spiffy blue color they brought back. I wish they offered that color when the 2k1's came out. I feel so gypt cuz mine came with hubs and now they come with REAL RIMS.
Go with the new. I'm not hating on LX's or anything, but they are sorry stock. I'm not saying the EX is any better for speed, but it does have more pep in it.

Rep Power: 0 Should I get a slightly used like a 2002 Civic EX or get a brand new Civic EX?? Also, is the 2004 Civic considered to be 7th gen or 8th gen Civic?

Now that you are starting to talk 03s, there is really no reason to not buy a new one...I can understand the difference of 2 or 3 years, but there is really no comparsion now. Save $2000 or so, but get a used car? Fuggeddaboutit.

Rep Power: 288 If you;re going to swap out the engine I would assume getting a used car would be the way to go. Why waste so much extra cash on a car with a brand new engine that you don;t need...
Now if you;re going to do the swap a few years down the line... Then you might as well buy new.
