Calling all members, need advice on buying crx

Aight, I am about to buy a crx and I have a dilemma, im just wondering if you think I am getting this crx for a bad price, heres the info

its a 88crx si,
manual
White
166,000KM
103147Miles(for US residents)
full VIS vader kit with Wings West whale tail spoiler,
Dc headers
HKS Exhaust
pioneer deck,
New rubber, stock alloys rims
dl tweeters,
and alpine alarm
Selling for $5200($4,073.81 US residents) , Talked him down from $5500(4,308.84 US residents ), still high IMO

The problem with the car is that the one of the sideskirts is scratched up from a sideswipe(Im thinking he hit the curb, thats what it looks like) some surface rust on the sunroof, and some rust in the inside fenderwell not too much rust vs other crx's on the road in my area

I went to take a look at this car and imo it was very clean, the original paint was really good, hardly any rust on the body, the engine was very clean, but thats expected since he IS selling the car, the interior of this crx was mint, no rips no burns, the interior looked brand new.

Do you guys think $5200($4,073.81 US residents) is a reasonable price? for a 88crx si with166,000KM,103,147Miles(for US residents)on the body and engine? This is my first time actually buying a used car so any imput or advice would be great

thanks

Consider having a few extra thousand for a new motor....or transmission

And no that does not sound like a good price

Did you drive it?

I don't think its a good price considering my brother got an '89 Acura Legend fully loaded (leather, cd changer, ect) with brand new paint for $3500 I would keep looking around if I were you.

rediculos pricing! look for signs of new paint job (temp. cover up of rust by use Fiber Glass filler, body filler) especially in Canada, with salt on the road during winter, rust will come back to hunt you in a matter of no time

My friend bought a rex almost identical to that except it was a 91 with about 150,000 and fewer mods for $2,800. Even with the mods, that price is way too high. I can't see it first hand, but I wouldn't pay over $3,600 (I'm American) for it in any condition.

Don't get it. Thats a high price for that car. with that price u could get a 93 hatch. try to find one that is under $2,000 US then just put a b16 in there then ur set. that what i was going to do but i bought a turbo.

That's an old car and you'll have tons of problems with it. Way too high for the mileage. May even have problems you don't know about.

yeah ****in right, what a rip off price... u could find a 90 crx w/ a b16 and a fewer mods done w/ it for that price. and as for a stock car, u could buy like a 96 hatch for that.

^^^perhaps he didnt want one with a b16 in it.^^^ plus the 88 CRX handles better then the 90...

People Buy CRXs for other things besides drag racing.

That 88 is one of the 2 cars I'm looking at for my next race car (Ofcourse I wouldnt get one that had a body kit on it). the oher one is a miata...

Otherwise, Ya Its too much for that car.
