There is no DX anymore. The new 04 DX is now called the Civic VP(Value Package). Nice and gay huh?

so what your getting at is that they are both slow anyways? i guess the VTEC doesnt do much for the car eh? well then how about the different features that the EX provides other than mechanical peformance?

The EX is faster. But not to any great extent. I have yet to lose to an LX or DX at the track. Plus if you get an EX you can get a VAFC II and play around with your vtec engagement levels.

what color do u plan to get?

ex has same colored mirrors

lx, well, doesnt.

but if you are getting black, it doesnt matter because any color in an lx will come w/black mirrors. ie I have a black LX, and the mirrors are black. but had i gotten a red LX, the mirrors wouldnt be red, they'd be black.

um what else... i believe the ex is equipped w/ a moonroof. thats why i didnt get an ex because i didnt want a moonroof. just asking for trouble if it might leak.

i say get the lx. i have never regretted it.

Basic run down...
EX: ABS, Alloy wheels, body colored trim and mirrors, Moonroof, 127hp w/ VTEC
LX: No ABS, Steel Wheels with hubcaps, no body colored mirrors, 117 hp/without VTEC

I have driven both the LX and EX, and the extra power from the VTEC really helps on such a small engine,

Compare the price difference and decide if you want things like ABS, Moonroof, Alloy wheels, and VTEC.

I have an EX.

Another thing, don't worry about the moonroof leaking, my family has owned Hondas equiped with them for years, and we have never had a problem them.

lx doesn't have the following like the ex

stock header
sunroof
vtec
more H.P.
A.B.S. system
rear anti-swaybar
side airbags
color matched door handles and mirrors

steel or alloy wheels are an option.

GET THE EX, don't make the mistake I did!

I wish the EX didnt have ABS I had a 2001 LX and my wife had a 2002 EX both sedans. My steering was much more responsive than hers. The VTEC doesnt kick it till high in the RPMs any way.And you get only a slight increase in HP not because of the VTEC,but notice how the EX has a higher comprssion ratio. But Her's wasnt faster than mine it just had a very slight edge in the take off.But arg I hate driving hers with ABS every time it kicked in it just sucked! I much prefer not having it but thats just me.And the whole moon rood is on EX and the colored trim, but now on teh 2004 model the EX and LX have colored trim pieces.

Also Ive read LX is better for adding a turbo if you ever consider that. I would also think the EX's moonroof adds more weight. Not sure about that though.

Yea right. That is full of crap. At our south meet in atlanta i got rearended by another 7thgener. It was an LX and you could see the skid marks for 30+ feet. If he would have had the ABS the cops said that he would have been able to stop in time.

And WTF are you doing to force the ABS to come on often enough? Maybe it's the operator and not the ABS that sucks on the car.

So your theory about ABS sucks.

WRONG, Vtec engages anywhere between 2800 and 3200 depending on the amount of pressure on the accelerator.

You obviously don't know $hit about 7thgens so everything in your posts are bogus and no one should listen to you.

The EX overall has more amenities. You'll get a 6 spkr CD stereo system, Moonroof, 15" wheels, body colored mirrors, usually sportier trim packages on the front & sides of the car...

It's got like an extra 10hp, but as people have been saying it's not much quicker. In fact When I test drove them I didn't really notice much difference at all.

wow chill out. Ive only had ABS kick in twice while driving my wifes car and that was due to ******* driver's and not me.And I hated how the brake peddle shook and i felt like i had no control.and if i do happen to skid in my car i can easily get out of it.but maybe i more used to my car and about VTEC well ive read many a post saying VTEC kicks it at around 4500 rpm,but hell i dont have VTEC in my car so i dont car and I never realy noticed it in my wifes car unless i was doing alot of WOT and it still wasnt as big a difference as people make it seem to be.....but you really do need to chill out about. This is supposed to be a nice friendly site.if you need to correct me then do it politely not like some immature *******!

yeah i mean all you need to do to make the LX get EX power is get a thinner head gasket to up compression or add a few bolt ons to get the 10 hp that the EX has extra.

Just get the EX. Sunroof, ABS, all that good stuff. When mine was stock I beat my cousin's DX with Intake and Exhaust, and I was a terrible driver. EX is just better and has more features... Because... It is the next step up.
